Excellent hotel Auersperg
by TripAdvisor Member Ecosoul
We went to Salzburg to see the Christmas market and stayed at the Hotel Auersperg. We can join so many others on this site in praising this hotel -well worth the 10min stroll from the centre. Stylishly decorated for Christmas it set just the right mood. Everything was good - room, breakfast, small bar with substantial light snacks but the real stars were the staff - friendly helpful and super efficient. For a touristy night we recommend the dinner/concert in the Castle on the Hill - lovely location, reasonable food and a high standard of musicianship. Shopping in Salzburg is good and the Christmas market is fun.

Great hotel in good location
by TripAdvisor Member Funkysheep5
Spent one week in the Hotel Auersperg during Easter 2005.
The hotel was well decorated, clean and the staff were incredibly polite. Breakfast was pretty good with a choice of cereal, fresh fruit, meats, cheeses, bacon, eggs, pastries etc.
The reception staff were helpful when asked about various timetables and the staff in the restaurant went out of their way to make you feel welcome.
Although it was about a 10-15 minute walk into the old town, the location was quiet and the walk was very pleasant.
Would recommend the hotel highly.
Great hotel and excellent staff

Our family of 5 and our nanny stayed at the Hotel Auersperg for 2 nights during a recent vacation in Salzburg. We reserved a suite and it accomodated all six of us (2 children were in cribs). The suite was the typical European size which we expected. The rooms and the bathroom were very clean. The hotel staff was friendly and assisted us with tours, taxis, etc. The breakfast was very good (meats, cheeses, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, cereals, croissants, etc.). The hotel is about a 20-25 minute walk from the airport and uphill. If you don't have a lot of luggage it's not a bad walk, but I don't recommend it with strollers, luggage, and small children. Aside from the breakfast, the best thing about the hotel was the sauna and steam bath. It was a great way to relax after walking most of the day. I highly recommend the Auersperg for the reasonable rates, cleanliness of the rooms, great breakfast, and excellent staff.
Luxurious - great price

This hotel is a great value. Rooms were large, bathrooms were new and comfortable. Staff friendly, free parking, free internet access using a hotel computer. Breakfast had great variety and was delicious. Fun places to walk to, some sights were a bit of a walk but this hotel was worth the extra exercise.
Christmas at the Auersperg
by TripAdvisor Member rsmithie
Our family of 3 met our married son and daughter-in-law for Christmas in Salzburg at the Auersperg Hotel. We had a wonderful experience in a great location. The staff of the hotel was outstanding in their helpfulness, even on Christmas day, when most of the activities around the city are at a standstill. The breakfast room staff was just delightful and cheerful each morning and the selection was fantastic. We were pleased with the internet connection available to the hotel guests. The hot chocolate and Christmas cookies in the bar were a welcome treat when we came in from our excursions around the city. We even had a Christmas bag with some goodies delivered on the 24th as a surprise to us from the hotel. Our room was spacious and kept very clean. We spent five nights in the villa section of the hotel and would stay there again if the opportunity arose.
Excellent Auersperg

We stayed in this excellent hotel for 3 nights at the end of January, and enjoyed every minute. We arrived late in the evening to find that we had been upgraded to a large room in the main hotel. We thought it was going to be good value, but what we got for our money was excellent. The room had obviously been renovated recently, and the bathrooms were modern and quite unique in their style, compared to what we have experienced in standard 4 star hotels. The bed was huge and comfortable. Breakfast was a wonderful buffet spread, and meant we didn't need to get lunch during the day. Location was good - it was a 15 minute walk from the old town, but it didn't seem far in such a beautiful city and was never a chore. Little extras made the hotel extra special for us - fresh fruit in bowls around the hotel, umbrellas available when the snow was heavy, and DVD's to watch at night being highlights. Service was always efficient but not intrusive.
We loved Salzburg in the snow, with so few tourists despite it being "Mozart Week". We plan to return at some stage, maybe next time in the summer season and will not hesitate to book at this hotel.

Comfort and Class!!

I used Slazburg as the base for a ski vacation the last week of February. I was immediately impressed by the location cleanliness and very helpful staff at the hotel. The rooms were large by European standards and the bathroom remarkably clean. We were in the villa which is next to the main building and not as plush but still a great room for the price. The hotel has everything you could need for a nice stay in Salzburg and I will certainly be going back there. Compared to other more expensive hotels in Innsbruck and Vienna this is hands down the nicest and best value hotel I have found in Austria.
Great hotel in a beautiful city

Fantastic Hotel, very helpful and attentive staff with nice rooms and good location. We had a very slight problem with our room which was immediate rectified without any fuss or need to complain (many hotels are not this customer focused). It was great having free fruit dotted around the hotel and the roof top garden/sauna was an added bonus.
I can't think of anything that wasn't good about this hotel (Thank you!)
