I very much liked the location and ambience of this little hotel. The room was cozy and comfortable. Out in the courtyard, you can look right up at the Hohensalzburg....and out the front door, you can practically step right into the old city.

I cannot see myself staying anywhere else when in Salzburg.

Unique Quality: In the heart of the old city.

We stayed at the Gasthaus...

We stayed at the Gasthaus Weisses Kreuz Hotel. This hotel is in the heart of the old town part of Salzburg on the path to the castle. Our room was clean and very nicely decorated.

Unique Quality: They have a beautiful roof-top garden. Unfortunately, we were not aware of the garden until our last day in Salzburg.

A: "Couldn't say which is more "polite", but I'd say "grüss Gott" is more common."
