Clean, contemporary, convenient, cramped.
Described as a designer hotel, a few arty pictures and the like aren't fooling anyone but it is a great hotel. The staff were very nice and very helpful, the dining room was very clean and the breakfast was one of the best i've ever had in a hotel. If only there was a grand view from the tables then this would be one of the best places to hang out in the whole city.
Next to the dining room is a small and very modern bar, it looked great but I didn't get to use it so I can't tell you much about it, I was too busy exploring the town centre and the bar up the road.
The hotels website made the rooms look a lot bigger then they actually are, mine was tiny, just enought room for the double bed and sundry furniture and boy was it hot! I had the window open most of the time. The room was at the rear of the building in the garden, no doubt the rooms in the main building differ in many ways. The bathroom was shared with the room next door but as it was low season there were very few people staying in the hotel and I had the place to myself.
Unique Quality: There are many Grand Hotels in Salzburg that cater for the well heeled visitors and no doubt there are hotels a lot further down the scale but the Jedermann is above average I would say and well worth the walk from the train station, it's style is different from the usual chain hotels and all the better for it. I would recommend a visit to the website to see more of the hotel.
