    • This is a clean 2 star hotel located 3 minutes walk from the train station and 15 minutes walk from the old town of Salzburg.

    Our room was large and the staff were friendly and helpful.

    This place was extremely easy to find and a very short walk from the train station, which is nice when you're lugging a big backpack around Europe. The room was clean and included satellite TV, a telephone, a full bathroom with a great shower and the price includes a good breakfast. It takes only about 5 minutes to walk to the Mirabell Gardens and 10-15 minutes to get to the Old Town.

    The staff was welcoming and helpful and spoke some English. They are willing to provide city maps and helpful advice if you ask. There is also a small internet place just across the street, although the connection wasn't the most reliable.

    I paid 54 Euros for the night.

    Only 3 min. walk from the train station and station bus stop, Hotel-Pension Adlerhof is a very nice place to stay.
    I reserved a single room and was given a two bed room (still charged a single) on the 2nd floor (go up stairs and keep going straight until you hit the furthest door, room #19). The bed was comfortable and I got to watch the election of Pope Benidict XVI on CNN.
    The room was well lit and comes with cable tv and a fair sized bathroom.
    There's a free breakfast buffet from 7:30-9am every morning.
    There's a supermarket 2 min. walk back towards the train station where I purchased many a dinner. Also within 2 min. or less walking distance are 3 internet cafes for 1.50-2 Euros an hour.
    Acoss the street from the Adlerhof is a large adult entertainment store that I never went in but it's there all the same.
    The main town of Salzburg is only a 15 min. walk away.

    The desk only accepts room payments in CASH. They do not accept credit cards or checks.
    There is an ATM machine in the train station lobby if funds are needed.

    The staff of this Pensione were extremely friendly and helpful (even with the non-english speaking staff!). It is very well situated - only about 10-15mins from the "Old Town" area (where no cars are allowed to drive through anyway....). Huge rooms with TV, dining table, etc). Lovely quiet part of town.

    The breakfasts were probably the one of the best we had in the whole 3 months of holidays. Fantastic variety of food to choose from.

    • The stay was memorablr with the staff so co-operative and friendly. The hoel has a great ambience and every room has a view of the surrounding alps ,and above all its so near to the salzburg hauptbahnhoff
    last visit on April, 2003.

    • Friendly staff, ok breakfast, reasonable prices considering Salzburg is pricey, close to train station but away from tourist trap, sex clubs across the street, clean rooms and a good/refreshing walk through the city.

    • This hotel is located in a working class residential neighborhood - some older and newer (ugly) apartment buildings. Its very close to the railway station (about a 3 minute walk) and about a 15 or 20 minute walk to town. There's bus stops nearby though and internet cafes, supermarkets, restaurants near the hotel. The staff was friendly, breakfast ok, and the room was clean and well-kept, although fairly small.

    Salzburg is expensive, and this hotel was comparably well-priced.

    Warning: Do NOT stay here though if you're looking for a hotel located in a tourist area. There are 2 sex-shops across the street if this kind of thing bothers you.

    • It's a comfortable, clean and pleasant pension. You won't hear too much noise. the facilities are fine, as good as you can expect in this price range. Breakfast is normal continental - basic range of croissants, cereals, orange juice, tea and coffee. Skip the tea. Bring your own if you want any while you're there - the teabags they had by the drinks machine were a little old, and only green tea. They had a computer for internet access but it was broken when we were there. Our double room turned out to be two big single beds pushed together, but they were very comfy all the same. It's a good ten minutes or so walk to the old town area, but it's easily navigable - you can just walk straight down Elisabethstraße and then Rainerstraße, which takes you down to Mirabellplatz and the Schloß Mirabell.

    Check the Salzburg tourist office website before booking - you may well be able to get cheaper rates through them than those stated on the pension's own website. We did. Also, I emailed the Adlerhof directly and didn't get a reply, which in retrospect could have been related to the broken computer. The tourist office is very good though.

    • This is more of a family run hotel than a Pension, but it is a short walk from the train station, and a 10 min. walk to the Stadtmitte over the river. It is in a Turkish part of town, but the low rates and proximity to train station make up for it. They have a deliciuous breakfast and triple rooms for families.

    Great location and good price. There is a sex shop (only open on weekdays) on the same street, but I felt safe and didn't see anyone lurking around. I wouldn't have even noticed it was there if my friend didn't point it out to me. They have free parking for guests along the street.

    The continental breakfast is included in your room rate, I recall bread, cereal, and juice.
