Great Location
We really enjoyed staying at this hotel and had a room overlooking the river. We were with two other couples and all the rooms were very nice. Our room was huge with living room and separate entrance sitting room As is normal in Austria, particularly Salzburg, the rooms were expensive. None of the airconditioning worked in all three rooms. The staff was very friendly and parked our car for us when we arrived at the hotel.. Now that is a big plus considering how far away parking is from the hotels
Unique Quality: Nice outside courtyard to eat in. Great view of the river, central location to everything.

5-star hotel in Altstadt
I've never stayed here but the location seems very convenient. Seeing as it is a Radisson, you can only assume the service will be identical to any other Radisson. But Austrian's like to take things a step further, so perhaps it would be better than your average Radisson. Expect to spend a lot, as a hotel like this, in a location like this is rather expensive.

Hotel Altstadt
Venerable is the word to describe this current outpost of the Radisson group: after its founding in 1372 it was a brewery for centuries, then became one of the city's first inns, and has been a luxury hotel since 1992.
On one side, rooms overlook the river and the picturesque Capuchin cloister atop the hill opposite; on the other, upper rooms sneak a peek at the fortress. Added bonuses are the central yet quiet location and generous buffet breakfast.

Most memorable Hotel in Austia
This hotel is remarkable. The staff is friendly, the rooms are uniquely decorated and the beds are the most comfortable I've sleeped on in ages and the location is the best you can get in Salzburg right on the main shopping street and on the Salzach River. Although pricier than the average hotel, worth searching the web for a deal..I did.
