Travel Tips for Zell am See
Kaiserschmarren & Pastries
by RACCOON1
Been to Zell am See two times. The first time was in October when I discovered Kaisserschmarren , a sugared pancake. Have eaten these pancakes in other places in Austria ( Kitzbuhel for instance) but the Zell am See ones were the best . The second visit to Zell am See was in late January . The mountain side restaurants were serving grapefruit size pastries , in various shapes and with various ingredients . The locals were eating these things throughout the day, not just after lunch . We eventually gave in .
Kapelle auf der Schmittenhöhe
by globetrott
Elisabethkapelle was built in the year 1905 on top of Schmittenhoehe, in a hight of about 2000m above sealevel, in order to memorize empress Sisi. You can enter this chapel freely and without restrictions during the day and will find a nice interior in a combination of Art Nouveau and traditional style.
This chapel is just a few meters from the station of Schmittenhoehe.
the townsquare of Zell am See
by globetrott
This is the townsquare of Zell am See with a lot of interesting houses, the Vogtturm and a fountain in the centre. There are a lot of garden-restaurants there as well on this townsquare that is also totally carfree and far away from the trafic-noises.
Zell Am See, AUSTRIA.

What a fantastic place !!! I thought I would be bored here as I`m used to lakes & mountains around my hometown, but I was pleasantly suprised.
Mountains are higher, valleys deeper, lakes bluer.....................
The air seems cleaner & fresher, also the towns & villages look more unspoiled, feels like going back in time a few years.
MORE TO ADD LATER............................
