Fab hotel!!!

We got married here in August 06, and stayed at the Heitzmann, who arranged everything. The hospitality was wonderful, and they couldnt have been more welcoming to us and our guests.
Lovely hotel, fab location.

A very cosy and warm hotel

As this is the hotel I satyed in when I was married I am probably biased but the food was great and the rooms immaculate.

Unique Quality: Family run accomodation that shows that the personal touch does count.

We are looking to get married in Zell next year and are wandering whether it is possible to arrange the ceremony independently or whether we have to go through a tour operator? We would also like to hear from anyone who has married in zell.

Something general, when marrying in Austria :
You need to prepare it some time ahead, even if you will not make a lot of fuss...
In Austria you CANNOT just pass by the mayor and say this is our papers, we want to marry right away !
Your marriage will have to be posted on a public board 4-6 weeks prior to the date you want to marry.

Hi

I am getting married in Zell in June at the Hotel Romantik, I am doing it direct with the hotel and they are great. We marry in the Registry office and I have about 30 guests coming with us. I know of one other person who married there during winter a couple of years ago and they had a great time to. I had already booked mine when I heard of the other wedding.

The website of the hotel is http://www.romantik-hotel.at/en/index.html

If you are not Austrian you do have to do a lot of things prior the wedding which has made it a bit complecated from this end but the hotel seem to be getting on with the organisation.

I will try and remember to post something on here after the event.

Hi,

We are getting married in Zell am See in March.

We have booked through the hotel Heitzmann who have been so helpful with my various questions.

We are getting married in the local registry office and Rudi and Anita (Heitzmann owners) have advised that we need to provde the follwoing documentation to them and they will make the rest of the arrangments.

Copy of passports
Birth certificate (long version including parents details)
Statutory declaration (from a solicitor confirming we are both free to marry)
Certificate of no impediment (local registry office) one each
Apostille (from the FCO) on both birth certs and on one certificate of no impediment

When we were deciding whether to book direct a lot of people said that tour operators charge for a lot of extras that you don't need.

We are hvaing 15 - 20 guests who are coming for different periods and will therefore be booking indepndently. I think if we were having more guests I would have considered making a group booking through an agent.

Let us all know what you decide.

Tori
