Rainbow
by victorwkf
My wife and I were very lucky to be able to see a rainbow over Zeller See (lake) and the surrounding mountains during the late afternoon when we arrived at Zell Am See in June 2007. Rainbows can be seen at the interface between strong sunlight and rainy weather together with dark clouds.

Motorradhimmel Großglockner / Biker's heaven is a new project in the area around of Grossglockner in order to improove the facilities along Grossglockner Hochalpenstrasse for motor-bikers.
So they will find lots of garages, shelter-rooms and changing rooms in case that the weather is changing. On the top of the Hochalpenstrasse, at Kaiser Franz-Josefs-Hoehe they will even find special lockers (see my 2nd picture), big enough to store their leather-overalls, the helmet and luggage etc. while taking a walk in the mountains. The "Austrian Fountain"
by victorwkf
The "Austrian Fountain" is located at the Grand Hotel of Zell Am See, just next to the Zeller See (lake). The fountain was designed by Friedensreich Hundertwasser, one of the most famous Austrian artists of the second half of the 20th century. Hundertwasser dedicates this fountain to the nine provinces of Austria, with each column representing each province. The height of each colomun represents the number of people living in each province and is according to the proportion of colours in each coat of arms.
Lakeside Beauty
by nhcram
"The sun shone for us."
Zell am See is an unusual resort because it is not a rustic village like most of its small Austrian competitors, but a lakeside town with a charming old centre. I am sure it is geared up more for winter than summer visitors but saying that we found the place alive and well.
The tour around the lake is a must.
Zell makes good base for holidaymakers who enjoy travelling around. Having a car makes it easy to visit numerous other resorts like nearby kaprun.
Cycling is also a popular mode of travel. Hiking is a good way of seeing the area and there are hundreds of marked tracks to enable you to do this.
Parking is not too easy in the town.
