Hotel Alter Telegraf
Billed as three star accommodation, I expected a little more, even in Austria, but what I got was a small bed, in a cramped room, that strangely opened up not onto a corridor but a garden courtyard. It felt more like a Butlin's chalet than a hotel room. I think there are probably better value hotels in Graz, although it wasn't bad. The staff were friendly enough, and the location was just outside the city center, a stone's throw from the Schlossberg.

The best choice we could have made
Make sure you book the room with the windows to the garden and you should be absolutely satisfied with this accomodation. Breakfast is included in the price and is very good in a cosy room. Twice we had dinner in the adjacent restaurant and the food was very tasty. Gosser beer was also good.
Unique Quality: very clean, SAT-TV, fridge, beer garden, balcony, restaurant, bus stop round the corner (will take you to the Train Station in 7 min)
You can walk to the town centre through the park in 10 min, or to climb the Schlossberg to get a great view.
