What can I say? This hotel was fantastic. We booked through www.graztourism.at, which I advise you look at, as they do 3 nights for 2 offers on a lot of hotels. The hotel was situated right on the main Hauptplatz square and you literally walked out of the hotel in to the hustle and bustle of the Christmas market. I stayed here in December 2005 with my girlfriend. The hotel dates back to the 16th century and the rooms are very spacious with wooden floors and high ceilings from which a decorative chandelier hangs. The big bed had romantic draps hanging over it from above and the curtains were made from sumptuous regency style cloth. The room even had a small walk in lobby with a large cupboard and a spacious bathroom with all the facilities was also on hand. Breakfast in bed was included, which offered a wide range of food. The hotel itself had a lovely restaurant area with ceilings that rose to the top of the hotel, which enabled each floor above to look down on it. The food looked lovely but we didn't eat, as we were staying there and wanted to try different places. There is a small bar to the left of the entrance offering drinks into the early hours The staff were courteous and efficient, if a little distant, however there was one bloke who was lovely. Wend broke the key in the lock and he manged to get it out, find a replacement and reassure us that there was no problem with minimal fuss. Thanks mate!
To summarise, I would definitely advise staying here. Its a top romantic hotel and the location is second to none. Nuff said!
