Grand Hotel Wiesler Graz

Art Nouveau Gem !

We stayed here overnight on our way to Lake Bled Slovenia. It’s a beautiful quaint town and well worth the time to visit. It’s the only 5 star hotel in town. If driving it can be difficult to find as all the streets in Graz are all one-way. Just follow the signs to the hotel. We tried this about three times until we finally got it right. The building is a turn-of-the-century art nouveau gem, with beautiful mosaics hanging on the walls.

Location – The Hotel Grand Wiesler is located in the heart of the historic town centre, beside the Kunsthaus and the island in the Mur . Its just a five minute walk into the Old Town across the bridge and into the main square.

Check –In -
Check in was fast and efficient, the staff were very friendly and helpful. A staff member also parked our car for us.

Rooms –
Our room 322 was spacious and extremely comfortable. We managed to book this room through hotel club internet site and received a extremely good rate. However, it must be one of their cheaper rooms, as the brochure of the other rooms look more elegant and luxurious. Our room consisted of two double beds joined together to make one huge King Size bed. A table, two chairs, plaza TV, mini bar, reading lights, air conditioning, high-speed internet connection and safe were also supplied.

Bathroom –
The bathroom was average size with a shower over the bath. A small vanity unit with a good make up mirror. Toiletries were sufficient.

Breakfast –
A good selection with fresh juices, hot scrambled eggs and bacon, which was included in our rate. The breakfast room is gorgeous with a fantastic art nouveau mosaic, the majestic Coat of Arms and others.

Service –
All staff members were very friendly and helpful.

Unique Quality: Overall –
We had a brilliant stay in Hotel Grand Wiesler and found the hotel offered an old fashion hospitality, blended with a very interesting historical town with many wonderful architectural gems. I have given this hotel a 5 star rating for its old fashion charm. (This is a Summit chain hotel).

Note - this is not your luxury 5 star hotel but an elegant time piece.
