If you don`t mind to stay across the main railway-station, somewhat out of walking distance to the citie`s center, Hotel Daniel is a convenient and comfortable place, once you`ve closed the door behind you. Most rooms are nicely refurbished, airconditioned and equipped with soundproof windows and amenities like a "raindance-shower with daylight",DVD player and free high-speed Internet access. On-site it has a coffee-shop,a lounge with fireplace, sauna, a small bar and a restaurant with international and regional specialities.
Conveniently located for railway-passengers, easy access to the city-center (tram-station infront of the hotel). Rather busy and noisy quarter.
Part of a series of design hotels, the Hotel Daniel is located next to the train station. The grounds outside the station before the hotel aren't the most pleasent to walk through at night but they're heavily used by locals and is pretty much alright. The hotel is a business traveler type. The rooms are "small" by American standards I suppose but they're very well designed and I had no problems with it at all. I had the "Smart" room #505 for 59 euros. A double bed, tv with DVD, WAN-Internet in room and a "rain" shower. The shower looks into the room through a glass wall with no curtain to shield it from view (fyi for people traveling together ). The toilet is accessed by a sliding door that either closes off the shower entrance or the toilet entrance at any given time. The bed is comfortable and the shower is refreshing and hot. You need to use your keycard to use the lights but it kept me from loosing it. The lobby has a computer with free internet for guests and you can have coffee or other drinks in their restaurant behind the front desk. You can also rent a Vespa scooter for a day from the hotel as well to travel around the town.
Vespa scooter rental, next to rail station, next to streetcar stop
Directions: From train station, turn RIGHT, cross over the streetcar tracks and through the little park area. The Hotel Daniel is right in front of you.
