Koschak Wirt & Weinbauer: Quaint stay in the countryside

The guesthouse is run by the Koschak family (now by the son & his chef wife) for generations. Koschak guesthouse & vineyard is a great place to stay for a night or a longer holiday because you'll be away from the city and in the middle of the country.

My room was huge, with a clean bathroom, separate toilet and two big beds. There are no TV or telephones which was fine. Apart from accommodation & wine, the guesthouse also has a conference center for company functions.

At the back of the guesthouse, there are a couple of stone carvings which are supposed to be Celtic but they were made quite recently, not hundreds of years ago.

Unique Quality: Breakfast is included in the room rate and you can enjoy a traditional Sulmtaler breakfast: fresh baked bread, eggs, cold meat & freshly squeezed apple juice. The wine here is also quite good and inexpensive. Don't forget to order the Styrian fried chicken because they are free-range chicken (which are huge!) from their farm next door

The other thing I enjoy about this place is the Koschak family who are warm & friendly. They are constantly on their feet, cooking, serving the meals and manning the reception.
