Hotel Schloss Obermayerhofen: not only for newly-weds !

Austria, and especially the federal states of Styria and Carinthia are known as the " Countries of Castles". One of those Styrian castles has been turned into a Boutique-Hotel with onlý 22 rooms, but you should see those rooms!! Equipped with genuine, wonderful antique furniture, large like the count`s living room and most tastefully decorated. THE place in Austria, to get married, b.t.w!!
Obermayerhofen was established in 1170 as well-fortified estate. To protect the property, a knight’s castle was built. In 1315, Heinrich Mayerhofen, Bishop of Gurk and Provost of St. Stephan’s Cathedral in Vienna, is documented as owner.
The palace was severely damaged in the post-war era at the hands of the occupation soldiers; it was pillaged and practically left to disrepair. 1977, Count Harald Kottulinsky bought back the palace and opened a luxury palace hotel in 1986. Since 1991 his wife Countess Brigitte has been operating the palace hotel. In 1999 she had the palace grounds expanded into the adjacent area by 10,000 sqm.
The hotel countless amenities include 2 restaurants, an eco-pool and a wonderful park .Breakfast is served in the Castles Living Room. Meeting-rooms and -equipment for Board- and Executive-meetings available. The hotel arranges weddings and wedding-parties.

Outstanding high-quality ambience and several historic, but beautyfully refurbished function-rooms, exquisite food and friendly staff, led by the Count`s family. Comparably high value for money.(Doubleroom starts at USD 225,- incl. breakf.)
CLOSED from mid-January until end of Feb.
