Take the 'Hungerburgbahn' to the 'Hafelakar' on the 'Nordkette' (Northern chain of mountains). Here you have a dazzling view over the town and the Inn-valley. With clear weather you can follow the Brenner-autobahn (with the technical miracle of the Europa-bridge) down South towards Italy. Waking up at my friend's house and see the sunlight climbing down from the tops of the mountains.

Of course, you must visit the Goldenes Dachle. This gold roofed building is either best viewed from above in the clock tower (an easy and most worthwhile climb) or from the relative comfort of a small ground level cafe. Either way, you may have a fantasy of being a member of the King's court when he greeted the average citizen, listened to their troubles, and passed down his judgment from beneath the golden awning. Those were interesting times indeed! Climbing the clock tower to get the true view of the locale and surrounding mountain views. Don't forget your camera!!

The quickest way to ascend Nordkette mountain is the Hungerburg Bahn which leaves from a station at the end of Rennweg (end of tram lines No. 1 and No. 6). The Hungerburg plateau is a good base for hiking. From here cable cars continue to just below the summit.
Right of way

Streetcard ALWAYS have it...you don´t! And another interesting tidbit...apparently, if you stop at an intersection where you have the right of way (because you´re looking for a sign or a number or just didn´t know...) you lose your right of way! Can cause some major differences of opinion in traffic!

When going to the skijumping make sure not to forget flags. The top three of nation flags I saw at the Innsbruck qualifying were
1 - German
2 - Austrian
3 - Finnish
We had all three of them but the Finnish one was the biggest :-)
