go up the Nordkette. Take the cable car from the city. Innsbruck is a delightful town for visitors to Austria. However, unless you are into mountain activities such as skiing or hiking, epxect to get a bit bored after a couple of days here. However, the possibility of visiting nearby lakes should not be over-looked. Try getting the steam train to Aachensee. Friendships made while living there.

Just to the left of the Annasaule stands this lovely baroque church. I don't know if it has any significant importance whatsoever, but it's just a striking piece of architecture, of which there are many in Innsbruck.

The arch was built in honour of the marrige of Leopold II and Maria Ludowicka in 1765. During the celebration the Leopold's father, Franz I Emperor died. The arch has celebration frescoes in the southern part, but in the northern part we can picturs of sadness about Franz's death.
Put your money where your car is...

People in Innsbruck seem to think the car is a safe place to store luggage or money. I went out with people who withdrew 1000 euros and then put 900 in their car, because obviously nobody breaks into cars there.
I was completely amazed (and that's really an understatement), and I was laughed at because I absolutely could not relax while my luggage was still in the car (we had just arrived, were going out with friends of my then boyfriend, who used to live there, and we hadn't checked into the hotel yet). In the end I got so nervous that I forced my bf to take me to the hotel so I could take up my stuff to our room and have a relaxed evening, but people really didn't see why this was so important.
I really still cannot believe why anyone in their right mind would leave 900 euros in a car, but everyone seemed to agree that this was really the safest place to keep money.
So now you know where to look if you run out of money. Or how not to come across as a complete idiot and be laughed at because you actually believe (ridiculous) that someone might break into your car (sure) and (mwoehaha) steal your belongings. =)

In Sep you might need a jacket or sweater (especially in evenings), but if you intend to stay on the sun for a long time (like on ski jumping competition), I suggest you to take shirts without sleeves, shorts and some open summer shoes. It can get really hot!!!
In winter don't forget to take your warm clothes, but also some not too warm!! Wheater is really changeable!!!! Sun protection cream in any time of the year!!!
It's amazing how easiliy you can get sunburnt!! (even in winter) Don't forget your umbrella!!!!
