    Skip the fish food

Hotel was expensive even though we had group discount and it was summer time (off season)

Unique Quality: Bathroom has been separated from the room by glass walls (can see through) and also toilet has glass door, which doesn´t make sharing a room ideal with not very close person.

  • Ischgl biggest Con !

Whilst written up as a design hotel in the guides, the reality is somewhat different. A hotel of two halves is more accurate. One half is modern designer style, the other half is a very badly maintained old fashioned tourist hotel. The hotel makes no mention of the shoddy rooms in the original hotel, and is careful to avoid photos of its exterior which portray a much more accurate picture. Having been pushed into accepting and paying extra for a superior room, we were given a supposed free upgrade to an appartment! An old fashioned room with six beds was seemingly a fantastic upgrade and much better than a modern designer room that the web site had led us to believe we would be occupying !Nor were we allowed to downgrade ourselves to a normal room- there aren't any ! The management made frequent comments about the number of square feet that we had, as if it was of some benefit ! Explaining that we had no need for an extra four beds in our room fell on deaf ears. Nor would they move us to a decent room. An appartment seemingly was an amazing reward ! The sofa was so dirty that one was reluctant to put clothes on it, and the bath so nasty that my daughter would only use the shower. The management are unhelpful, and unapolagetic. Avoid and dont be fooled by the self written write ups that the hotel seems to have arranged- various write ups are from people who live in Ischgl ! Strange that locals stay and review the hotel ?

Unique Quality: Dirty, badly maintained bedrooms. Taps that have only a trickle of water coming out of them. A grumpy unpleasant and unhelpful management. A ropy clientele.

The Designer hotel in the Alps

Absolutely unusual for the hotel architecture in Tirol , Hotel Madlein is stating to be the first designer hotel in the Alps. Altogether with hotel "Elisabeth" ,"Schatzi" bar ,"Pacha" disco club and "Coyote Ugly" striptease bar they belong to the Aloys family and are setting the trends in the resort.
The price per person starts from 180 euro per night.....
Even the sinks in the toilets have this alien zen look!! - see the last pics....
    To be continued

More about Hotel Madlein

Pacha night club

by desert_princess

Pacha is located in the Designed hotel Madlein - the place for the rich or famous. It has its professional dancers that are in charge of entertaining the crowd of men that are invading the place. As everywhere in Ischgl , there are much more men than women in the clubs,or as a tourist said - "10 000 men and 10 women" one thing good for us, girls...
the official webpage is still in construction as from what it looks -
Right next door is the Go-Go dance club "Coyote Ugly"
