Ischgl biggest Con !
Whilst written up as a design hotel in the guides, the reality is somewhat different. A hotel of two halves is more accurate. One half is modern designer style, the other half is a very badly maintained old fashioned tourist hotel. The hotel makes no mention of the shoddy rooms in the original hotel, and is careful to avoid photos of its exterior which portray a much more accurate picture. Having been pushed into accepting and paying extra for a superior room, we were given a supposed free upgrade to an appartment! An old fashioned room with six beds was seemingly a fantastic upgrade and much better than a modern designer room that the web site had led us to believe we would be occupying !Nor were we allowed to downgrade ourselves to a normal room- there aren't any ! The management made frequent comments about the number of square feet that we had, as if it was of some benefit ! Explaining that we had no need for an extra four beds in our room fell on deaf ears. Nor would they move us to a decent room. An appartment seemingly was an amazing reward ! The sofa was so dirty that one was reluctant to put clothes on it, and the bath so nasty that my daughter would only use the shower. The management are unhelpful, and unapolagetic. Avoid and dont be fooled by the self written write ups that the hotel seems to have arranged- various write ups are from people who live in Ischgl ! Strange that locals stay and review the hotel ?
Unique Quality: Dirty, badly maintained bedrooms. Taps that have only a trickle of water coming out of them. A grumpy unpleasant and unhelpful management. A ropy clientele.
