SKI / BOARD HIRE Many will require the hire of good quality ski or board and boots, as most travel with a tour company, you may feel obliged to take up their various great sounding price deals from their recommended retailer, before you pre-book please take a note from me, we were lazy this year as I was recovering from flu and on the transfer were told by the rep that prices were comparable in the ski hire shops and that we wouldnt get them any cheaper doing it ourselves ! WRONG.... we paid 98 euros per person for VIP ski's from the Green room, after a couple of days we went in to get a price for board hire for a couple of days, we overheard the owner giving out prices for VIP ski's, I asked him for a price " 75 euro's per person inc insurance for skis", also if you book in a group he will give you 2% discount per person up to a total of 20% overall, I broached this with tour reps, usual response, our prices are competative and we will speak to the owner etc etc, so be warned, we spoke to others on airport who overheard our conversation, they also had agreed discounts with other ski hire shops in Mayrhofen. There are plenty so play one of against the other and dont take tour company advice, internet is king !
I am awaiting a response from holiday company on this issue
Also if you stay at the Hotel Rose you get an info pack which gives you 15% discount at the de Roten Profis hire shop ( 50 metres from hotel )
