Travel Tips for Sankt Johann in Tirol

In summer, St Johann is a fantastic place to try out the adventure sports. On a clear day, you can catch the gondola up to the top of the mountain and paraglide off the top of the black run. I did this as a tandem glide and it was amazing to just sit back and enjoy the scenery. The guide will also let you "drive" while they take some photos of you on their professional camera on a stick. In 2001 it cost me $280 which included all the equipment, the photos (10 exposures), a tabboggan ride down a hill and a bungy trampoline jump (that's pretty fun!!). It was a fantastic afternoon of adventure and I'd definitely recommend it!

The end at the right is the point where the path from St Johann meets the Brg. The hikers were going to the picnic tables sinc eit was about noon.

I found the visitors were from the German speaking part of Belgium. On a tour in the area and stayed in St Johann.

Seclusion, deep in the forest.

The path was also a minor road that gave access to the owner of the cabin and a small farm just to the east.

This path continued downhill and reached a ford for the cars and a bridge for the walkers.

Eventually the occasional farm gave way to houses at the edge of town and finally the road into St Johann became evident, no buses, just keep walking.

How about a stop for a coffee and kuchen?

Good idea. End of hike!
