Travel Tips for Sankt Johann in Tirol
Canyoning

I also went canyoning whilst in St Johann - this was in 2001 and as it's a dangerous activity it may not still be running. We drove around 1 hour out of town to the drop off point, got decked out in our wetsuits and special shoes and headed off! We started by learning how to abseil. Once this was "mastered" we abseiled down the waterfall into the cave/canyon. We then walked, crawled, slithered, swam and abseiled our way through the icy cold water for around 1 hour before making it through to the exit at the other end.
It was one of the most exhillarating experiences of my life and if it's still running, I highly recommend it.
Steinerberg for one view.

The top at Steinerberg was an impressive 770 m but the trees were all of another 30 m tall, which did not give any view of the surroundings at all.
So it was off along the trail in the wood. passing some bright foliage, some flowers ( in the travelogue ) and a dog being taken for a walk.

Finally, one of the things on my wish/to do list could be crossed off… I went snowboarding to Alps!
I was so eager to go that I booked my holiday for 6th of Dec already. I was devastated when it got cancelled three times because there was no snow… Bloody global warming!
On the 10th of Jan we were on our way. Our destination: St. Johann in Tirol.
St. Johann is a lovely little town, about one hour drive away from Salzburg airport. Because it is a ski resort it is a bit touristy but it still has maintained its charm and you can definitely feel you in Austria.
The town is at the foot of Wilder Kaiser mountain range and no matter where you stand, you have breathtaking view...
It was exactly what I needed after all that stress that Xmas and New Years bring...
P.S. I’ll add some pics later, when I get my film developed
