The flower Corso
by rebibi
Since 1969 every first weekend in august the flower Corso takes place in the pedestrian area of Seefeld at about 2.30 pm. Hotels and restaurants compete for the best-decorated cars or vehicles. The decoration - of course - consists of flowers!
At about 6 pm the distribution of prices takes place on the main square.
The picture shows the vehicle of Hotel Klosterbräu who won the first price in 2003, a beautiful venecian mask!

Our deadline

It takes you only about three quarters of an hour to hike from here to Reither Spitze (2374 m) but the trail is sometimes very steep and at some parts you have to climb a little. So we decided to hike downwards to Härmelekopf (2050 m), from where we took the cable car back to Ross-Hütte.
Seefeld in Tyrol

"Skiing and mountain climbing"
I really love Seefeld. I went there several times in winter with my parents and my brother. Seefeld is a lovely town with a own spirit. It’s mountains are not as high as the mountains of other wintersport towns in Austria but it has more atmosphere. We went there I think for six or seven times in winter and two or three times in summer. In summer you can do mountain climbing and walking and also swimming in one of the nearby lakes.
Even the ancient Romans knew that Seefeld was a centre of attention - and that it always would be. These days it is a multi-faceted resort that is a magnet for guests from all over the world and combines nature, sport, wellness and a holiday atmosphere into one attractive package.
Where else do the cross-country skiing tracks run straight past the famous symbol of the resort - the Seekirchl (“lake-chapel”)? Where else can you find a pedestrian area, an indoor swimming pool, a golf course, a congress centre and a casino right next to one another? And all of this is surrounded by the magnificent mountain scenery of the Karwendel Alpine Park and the Wetterstein range.
Tthe world-renowned resort of Seefeld, has 25 cable cars and lifts, and 250 km of cross-country ski tracks, it is everybody's winter ski resort dream-come-true. Seefeld is also the continuing host to many world class ski competitions.
