Hiking the Mountains
by rebibi
I will never hike as long as there are mountain-railways so we took the train and the gondola to Seefelder-Joch. Once you are at a certain altitude you get a breathtaking view over the mountains. It's not like staying in a narrow valley where mountains are rather threatening, there they are wide open!
We hiked from Seefelder Joch to Seefelder Spitze (2220 m), almost to Reither Spitze and back to Härmelekopf.
On our way we even saw about 25 chamois; one of them ended up in a hunter's rucksack! Take the train fom Seefeld to Ross-Hütte, then the small cable car to Seefelder-Joch.
Be sure to have the right shoes on for your hike! Don't forget sun lotion, enough to drink and your binoculars.
Ski Holiday In Seefeld Tirol!

"View from tram lift"
If you have the time..take the tram lift that goes up the highest in the area. Even if you dont ski the views are worth it!
"Hotel Sonnenresidenze Alpenpark"
Nice Hotel. Rooms are spacious, and clean. The location is great..because it is a fairly short distance to the train station..although you might wanna take the hotel shuttle, and it is off the main drag of other hotels. The indoor/outdoor pool and hot tub are great after a day of sking but I really enjoyed the turkish steam room...wondefully scented and soothing. There is a spa with a variety of services if the pool isnt enough for you, ohhh and the food is great!

"seefeld in tirol pictures"
the station at seefeld is a local landmark, you can find many variants of this image all over the net so it's a popular shot.
"the seekirchl,seefeld in tirol"
the seekirchl, was one of the reasons i came to seefeld,i had seen it so many times and read about it on the net i just wanted to really be there in person, luckily for me the day i took this shot the weather was hot, hot, hot.
"views atop seefeld"
you simply must take the rosshutte mountain railway, then the cable car, up to the top to the viewing platform at seefelder joch, fantastic views are to be had for those with a head for heights
"the seefeld rossutte mountain mini railway"
the trip up to the viewing platform above seefeld is a must,
the walk up to the rossutte is rather steep so you need your walking legs on but the views at the top are worth it.
the mini railway takes you up to half way then you have to get out and take the cable car to the top
