I've stayed in this hotel a few times and am always very satisfied. It is a great location, right across from the stadt park, and walking distance to Belvedere, Stephansdom and Staatsopern. The rooms are very nice and the hotel bar is good. The rates vary based on conferences, so some weekends it is ridiculous and some are great deals.

Renaissance Wien

There are 2 Renaissance - one is penta and this one is just wien. This is further from the city centre - about 20 km. we stayed here becos we had coupons from the Marriott hotel reward program.

Very touristy hotel. Located near a train station Medling, and within 10 minutes or so you are in the city centre.

8 -10 brisk minutes walk Schonbrunn Palace and Gardens.

A 5 minutes walk there is MacDonald, Nordic fast food, and Billa supermarket chain and there was even a small craft market while I was there on a Saturday morning (starts around 9.30- 10.00 am)

if you get lost - then tell people it is the pink hotel!!!

the rooms are good sized, i was disappointed there was no kettle etc to make coffee or boil water to drink etc.

but the staff are very friendly - lots of American and Japanese tourists come here - you will see bus loads~!!!!

cost is 106 euro for weekends and weekdays around 125 euro

This was a great place. It had charm. Maybe a little older than some of the bigger hotels, but one I will go back to when we return to Vienna. Service was excellent. The desk staff, could not have been more helpful. Location, Location, Location. Close to the city in the university quarter. Next to Votiv Church. A short walk to an ATM, and subways. Its not that far to the central shopping area, Stephenplatz. Subway is an easier way to go, but walking is the way to go. An excellent restaurant. the .

The staff was great, the rooms were clean. The location was terrific. The restaurant was excellent.

This Hotel is classified as a 4-star but is more like a 5-star in reality. The most remarkable aspect was the service. The staff that I came across from various departments were consistently very helpful and charming. The room was large and the bed was large and comfortable. I stayed just for 3-nights on a short business trip in early December. This Hotel certainly enriched my Vienna experience. I would strongly recommend this hotel. The Underground station is just 3 minutes walk from the hotel. The girl at the reception suggested that I try taking the underground to the airport instead of a taxi. That was a great tip!

Part of the Marriot group, the Renaissance Penta is an excellent hotel not far from the heart of Vienna. The setting inside is quite impressive and the rooms are typical to those found in other Marriot hotels with a big comfortable bed and a good amount of space, even in the basic rooms. A very reasonable room rate considering it’s location - €116 including breakfast.

The hotel was okay. The staff were very friendly and the food on breakfast buffet was good and plentiful. Cheeses and sausages were stacked high. The location was far from most anything else. The only salvation was the underground was 1/2 block away. If you wanted to eat in the area, however, there is very little to choose from Also, the underground was dirty and felt almost unsafe getting into the Ring.
Rooms were kind of small and temperature not able to be adjusted.

	Residenz Hotel-Pension: Convenient Base for Exploring Satisfaction:

Close to the Rathaus and the university. A 5 minute walk to the nearest metro. This pension is in a quiet lane just behind the main street. The proprietor, Hanns Zeigler is friendly and accommodating. The rooms and big with high ceilings. The breakfast is adequate. The pension is on the 2nd and 4th floor of and old style building and now has air conditioned rooms which is a plus in summer.

Single rooms are terrible - small - you can see yourself in the mirror only if you jump on the bed, ventilation doesn't work, so I felt sigarette smoke every evening, the view from the windos - is a row of toilets for staff, the laundry returned me a blouse just on the 3d day upon departure, so I was forced to crumple it in my hand bag. The shower cab is covered by plastic of dirty orange colour: very good for developing of claustrofobia.
But the restaurants at the ground and upper floor are good with food, - excellent vine selection and service.

Location is very good, so if you are not single, and taking into consideration that this hotel has discount politic (I paid twice less) - it could be not too bad.
