I was travelling with my boyfriend. Our stay there was for three nights. When we arrived they gave us a very, very small room where we were uncomfortable. Appart from this, we are used to have a desk to write a resume of the day. I told them and they changed us the following day to a really nice and big room with a desk. The rooms of the upper floor had air-conditioning, but we had to ask for the remote control everyday because they took it away everyday after doing the room. Our feeling in general was that people were not nice at all. They tried to solve any problem you had and they were not rude, but you always felt as being annoying them when you asked for simple things that you should have without having to ask for them, such as a hairdrier, the remote control of the tv or a shower curtain. By the way, there is not a shower curtain in any of the bathrooms, so imagine the mess when you have a shower. Finally, just to add that breakfast is far far far away from the breakfast served in many other hotels of Austria. In conclusion I have to say that although it was clean, our stay at this hotel was not totally nice. last visit on September, 2005. |

The hotel is nice, in a great location, not so far from Central Area, and 2 mins walking from the underground. The price quite cheap with respect to the Vienna standards. I absolutely would recommend it Leave a Comment Theme: HotelPrice: US$20-40 » Currency ConverterComparison: less expensive than averageAddress: Mariahilfer Strasse 156, Vienna 1150Directions: It's the Vienna's Oxford Street! The hotel is clean, but it is outside the city center. You must catch the 21 to Schwedenplatz and walk from there or take the 21 to the U1 subway to get into the city center. This is fine because the public transportation in Vienna is great, but it only runs until midnight to 1am, so it limits what you can do at night. There is a bar in the lobby as well as a cafeteria for breakfast and lunch. This long-established hotel which rebuilt as a hotel ,the guesthouse built by the Franz Joseph emperor in 1907. The interiors of The dining-room and rooms are gorgeous. The room is wide, although it is old. Equipments of amenity etc. is prepared. This hotel is located in the city [ western ], You can go in about 10 minutes to Stephansdom and Stastsoper using a subway.
The breakfast time is from 6:00 a.m. for people who inspect a palace and a garden early in the morning, and is defined for a long time so that breakfast may also be eaten after the walk of a garden early in the morning. Breakfast has many kinds in a buffet style. when I mailed in advance, saying "I want you to pick me up from the airport", the taxi driver came out and greeted with the plate at the airport. This hotel is very kind. The optimum hotel can be told to people who want to inspect of a palace simultaneously opening,to enjoy the walk a garden early in the morning and to see the palace which is lighted up at night. Despite being a little out of the way, the Hotel Urania is a very good deal. Each room has a different theme (which can be a little on the tacky side), but between the rooms themselves and breakfast, it's a good place to stay.
Within a ten-minute walk, you could be at either the Hundertwasser Haus, Schwedenplatz or across the canal in the Prater. It is a nice place, rooms are comfortable and the staff is good, but the hotel is far from the city center.
