I was there in August 2004. When you first enter in the main lobby, you are impressed from the luxury of the hotel, but this is just a 4 star hotel. In the room you have: telephone, TV, Radio (2 special channels in the TV), minibar, a lot of space in the wardrobes, desk, 3 sitting chairs and a small table (about 1 meter x 0.50 meter), a hot press for pants and a safe. The WC was separate from the bathroom, in which was a bath tube and a bidet (useful to clean your tired feet after a day walking in Vienna! ;-) ) All the towels (2 big, 2 small and 1 carpet) was changed all the days if needed. There is also a laundry service, but I not used it. Soap is available in two useful dispensers. The minibar is locked by a key which is given to you in the same keyring with the main room key. Since the minibar is big enough and it is not automatic, you can use it to store your food. I bought tomatoes, ham and cheese and the minibar was VERY helpful. There is no air conditioning system, but I can assure you don't need it. My bed was a king size, and for king I means KING! It was hard and with four pillows; probably one of the most comfortable bed I ever used in my trips! If you travel alone (not with an organized travel group), you have a separate breakfast room (which is better in my opinion). Here you can found all you need: fruit juices (orange and others), tomato juices, hot-water and tea-filters, coffee and milk (just ask to the maid), tomatoes, vegetables, a good selection of hams and cheeses, sausages, scrambled eggs, fresh fruits, butter, margarine, bread (ABSOLUTELY TRY IT!!), cakes, 3 different yogurts, honey, 6 different jams, peaches in syrup and other... The breakfast starts at 06:30 and end at 10:30
In the hotel there is a free swimming pool (12 x 6 meters) which is almost free of people at noon. The opening time is 7:30-19:30 on the weekdays, and 9:00-19:30 during weekends. There is also a sauna (probably free, but I'm not sure) and a massage service I not experimented, but it was 8 euro per 10 minutes or a lot cheaper for a 50 minutes service. There is also a beautiful garden where you can stay. The hotel is in a FANTASTIC location. You have one side entering to the Schonbrunn gardens. You have just to cross the street in front of the hotel and walk for less than 50 meters to the right, in direction of the church. If you walk to the left side without crossing the street, you pass in front of a parking garage, a Sisley shop, a patisserie with ice-creams and a few shops. The underground (U-Bahn) station U4-Hietzing is on the opposite of the street at about 200 meters from the hotel. Here you'll found buses and trams too. Depending on you final destination, in a time from 10 to 20 minutes you may be in any point of the city. | | | | ETAP Hotel Vienna: Fantastic lodging for budget travellers! | Tip Rating: Satisfaction: | | | | |
Stayed at the Etap Hotel Vienna last weekend, and it was an excellent impression! For only 47EUR we've got a double room with A/C, color SAT TV and actually 3 beds. It is a bit spartan (hallways remind a bit on a school or hospital interior), but it is VERY clean, and very comfortable. It was very easy to find, and there is also a hotel garage at a ridiculous rate of 6,60EUR for 24hrs - compared to an average of 12-20EUR in other mainstream Vienna hotels.
No amenities whatsoever, so if you can't live without a hotel restaurant, indoor pool or room service - then this isn't a hotel for you. Just across the street from the hotel there is a gas station so you can buy snacks and drinks there, and vending machines just beside the front desk, coin operated of course. | | | | Holiday Inn Vienna South: **** hotels in Vienna | Tip Rating: Satisfaction: | | | | |
Very good hotel, by all standards, the personnel is friendly and helpful. But don't expect to be treated as a VIP there. As in everything else in this city, if you want extra quality, you should be prepared to pay for it.
At booking, make sure your breakfast is included in the price - it seems that things like that don't go without saying. Also, when you make your arrangements for the transfer to the airport, make it clear that you want the shuttle (9 Euros), not the taxi (30 Euros). By the way, if you are offered an appartment instead of a room, don't go for it - the "longer stay" appartments are generally less comfortable than the rooms, and they have less extras. | | | | Pension Neuer Markt: Pension Neuer Markt Compare Rates NEW! | Tip Rating: Satisfaction: | | | | |
A nice boarding house situated directly at Neuer Markt, a cute little square with a fountain. It is ideally situated between the Stephansplatz and the Staatsoper (opera house), and near many museums. We had a nice room, also furnished with a sofa and two armchairs in an old-fashioned style, corresponding to the baroque style of the building. From the window, we had a great view on the square. Breakfast was really good too : a large choice of breads, jams, cereals, and cake. Furniture also in the style of the building, which gave our breakfast a particular atmosphere :-) We paid around 60 euros per person per night, breakfast included Leave a Comment Theme: HotelPrice: US$40-80 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: Seilergasse 9, Vienna, Bundesland Wien 1010Phone: (01) 512 23 16Directions: Right in the center of Vienna

Usually, when planning a visit to a city I am also checking the Hilton hotel and occasionally I stay there. But this time I got special offer from Finnair airline combining flight and hotel so I will have to check the Hilton another time. Who’s going to join me then?
