A nice boarding house situated directly at Neuer Markt, a cute little square with a fountain. It is ideally situated between the Stephansplatz and the Staatsoper (opera house), and near many museums. We had a nice room, also furnished with a sofa and two armchairs in an old-fashioned style, corresponding to the baroque style of the building. From the window, we had a great view on the square. Breakfast was really good too : a large choice of breads, jams, cereals, and cake. Furniture also in the style of the building, which gave our breakfast a particular atmosphere :-) We paid around 60 euros per person per night, breakfast included Leave a Comment Theme: HotelPrice: US$40-80 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: Seilergasse 9, Vienna, Bundesland Wien 1010Phone: (01) 512 23 16Directions: Right in the center of Vienna |

Usually, when planning a visit to a city I am also checking the Hilton hotel and occasionally I stay there. But this time I got special offer from Finnair airline combining flight and hotel so I will have to check the Hilton another time. Who’s going to join me then? Leave a Comment |

This hotel is conveniently located only for its proximity to the main Westbahnhof station. It's a long way from town, but it is close to the U-Bahn station, so with a ticket you can be in the center in a few minutes. It's comfortable and clean, but nothing special. You don't get a great deal for the price, but for Vienna it is almost acceptable. The best thing about the hotel is the views from the upper floors, and if you can get one of these rooms I'd say they are just about worth the price. Every morning and night I was treated to a different sunset and sunrise, one clear and sunny, one rainy and overcast, and several with varying layers of snow and ice. From my vantage point on the 10th floor, I could see all the way to the city center and the cathedral, and beyond. In addition to the 67-71 euros a night cost, everything else in the hotel was expensive too. There was no mini-bar, but you could buy snacks and drinks in numerous automatic dispensors on several floors. There was also a restaurant and a convenient 24-hour snack bar. I prefered to make use of the nearby supermarkets, restaurants and shops on the nearby Marienhilfstrasse, which is possibly Vienna's biggest shopping street. In addition they offer Wi-Fi internet access, but it is the expensive rip-off T-Mobile service. Again I relented on my "never again" promise and paid up, only to again be ripped off by constant downtime. I suspect there are better hotels in Vienna, and the next time I visit I will try and find one, but the Ibis is certainly not one I would try and avoid in future, and I can recommend it just for the view.
Great city views from the upper floors. Leave a Comment |

 | | | | Renaissance Penta Vienna Hotel: Excellent hotel in Vienna Compare Rates NEW! Tip Rating: Satisfaction: | | | | |
While writing, I am currently enjoying my stay at Renaissance Penta Vienna. We booked this hotel because it belongs to the Marriott chain, which is our favourite. Since we were 3 persons sharing the room, we decided to book a business suite for the price of 214 € per night which was a great deal because: *the hotel is very nice and high level; *we could enjoy club level benefits, which are: -free internet connection (which I am using right know!); -4 free food presentations daily and unlimited drinks 24 hours a day; -free use of computers (but I had my personal laptop with me). The hotel is close to city centre, walking distance to Belvedere. It is also very close to Rennweg station (1 min. walk), from where you get easy connection to the U-bahn (through Landstrasse Wien Mitte station, 1 stop) to go wherever you wish.
This is a high level hotel, and it offers all 5* services like newspaper in the morning, twice a day room tide up, ... The staff is well trained and kind. Rooms are nice and cosy and they have been fully restored in 1999. Beds are extra confortable! Also the location is very good, if you want to travel around Vienna. The hotel offers also all traditional leisure & business facilities such as health club, sauna, indoor swimming pool, sundeck patio, a couple of restaurants, a coffee shop, lending library, concierge, business centre, ... I warmly suggest spending a little more and getting a club level room on the 7th floor, to enjoy the club level benefits! We had our own car, and we parked it at Renaissance parkplace, for the price of 18 € daily. |

Hostel Brigittenau is a pretty big hostel. It is also pretty clean and the rooms are nice. Emmanuelle and I had a double room-bunk beds, a table, two closets, a sink and mirror. The bathrooms and showers were down the hall. It was a pretty busy place, with all kinds of people in and out of there, but they all seemed to keep to themselves and there wasn't any kind of meeting place or hang out that we could find.
Breakfast was pretty good, with rolls, cheese, cold cuts, butter, jam, and coffee, tea and hot cocoa included in the price. There were also other things like yogurt and orange juice that you had to play extra for. They also served lunch and dinner for a price. There isn't a whole lot going on at Friedrich Engels Platz, but there is a mall next to the Subway Station. It's pretty big and new, with a movie theater, H&M, a grocery store, fast food and a couple sit-down restaurants. After I have decided to visit Vienna over the weekend it was quite easy to arrange everything over Internet. I wanted to book double room but they said they could not garantee it. They offered beds in dorms and if there is free room on the day of our arrival to keep it for us. And actually it really happened - they were very well aware of our arrangement and we got double room. It is certainly not lavish but rather basic place but quite in good order. It is located well just about 5 minutes away from Westbahnhof U-Bahn station. Leave a Comment |
OK, I must admit it, I did not stay in this hotel when I was here in Vienna, not sure if it worth it, its great location, looks beautiful, but I think I could spend that extra 200 euro it charge more useful in this beautiful city. Leave a Comment |
