Loved Kaiserhof
by TripAdvisor Member BridieIreland
Just back from a 3-night stay in the Kaiserhof, Vienna. Decided to treat ourselves to a little luxury so booked a honeymoon room for our stay. It cost a bit, but was well worth it. Location of hotel is perfect - 5 mins walk from the Opera House, near beautiful buildings like Karlskirche and only 10 mins to Stephendom, the centre of the city. Staff were really friendly and room was spacious, clean and luxurious (rose petals and champagne on arrival). The breakfast was a great start to each day - all the little touches were there, every taste catered for. You could have hot breakfast with meat and eggs or continental. Lots of lovely seeds to put in your muesli and sparkling wine if your stomach could take it that early in the morning! Wonderful pastries and lots of hot tea and coffee. It really set you up for the day. Throughout the stay the staff were really hospitable. There was even a little English-speaker's library in the lounge in case you forgot to bring a book with you for your stay. Lovely hotel - looked forward to going back to relax each night after all the sightseeing.
Romantic getaway

My husband and I booked a short city break getaway in early April, (left the children at home). We booked the dreams and roses package with the hotel directly and were so pleased that we did. On arrival we were greeted by very friendly helpful staff and quickly shown to our room - the room had to be seen to be believed - rose petals scattered all over the kingsize bed as well as around the bath in the generous sized bathroom. The bed had a beautiful romantic canopy over it and was delightfully comfortable. There was champagne chilling and a beautiful bowl of fresh fruit. Soft fluffy robes and slippers were provided for our comfort. The room was quite large with a sitting area, kingsize bed, large ensuite bathroom. There was a minibar not too expensive, safe, hairdryer - no tea/coffee making facilities but tea/coffee is provided free of charge to your room whenever you want. - ample wardrobe space and a trouser press. The hotel has a lovely gym (small) and wellness room which we were glad to use each evening after a long day in the city. There is a sauna and steamroom with a very relaxing sitting area where you can enjoy cold beverages free of charge. The breakfast provided was excellent with a hot and cold buffet, lots of fresh (organic) juices, herbal as well as regular tea, lovely coffee and hot chocolate and sparkling wine!!! I must say it was lovely to celebrate the start of each day! Because of the reasonable rate we got we assumed the hotel was a bit out of the city but in fact it is an easy walk to all the tourist spots we wanted to see. The staff were wonderful very helpful and friendly. We were so tired one day after sightseeing that we could not face going out that evening so we ordered room service which was excellent and spent a good hour unwinding in the wellness room. Free internet access was provided which was very handy for booking tickets to concerts on spec while we were there. We could not fault this hotel in any way - our only regret was that our stay was so short! We have already took a sneaky look at availability for this hotel for next October - watch this space!!!!
Great price point

We loved this hotel. It was more expensive then we usually go but it was worth it. Location was just outside of the heart of the city. Less than a ten minute walk to the main shopping through fair.
The room was on the top floor and had a modern feel. The bathroom was large and had a great shower. We really liked the bed, it was very comforting and relaxing.
Breakfast was a very solid buffet with a nice selection. A few things were low but nothing I wanted. They had great coffee.
Simply the best - Ideally located, Great Breakfast, Great Rates.

I booked this hotel after reading the previous reviews on this site about this hotel. And this hotel deserve the 5 star review it has received. The staff is excellent.
Simply the best - Ideally located, Great Breakfast, Great Rates. Marriots and Hiltons have to learn from this hotel, what the breakfast should be like.
Book it from the link from tripadvisor.com which will take you to a site called bookings.com. No hassles.
A nice hotel to explore the city

I've just returned from Vienna, where I spent 4 nights at Keiserhof. It is a four star hotel, belonging to the Best Western chain, and it's well located, a small distance away from the Opernring and the Karlplatz subway station. It has quiet and safe surroundings. As it would be expected from a four star hotel, the decoration was ok, but not very stylish. It was somehow comfortable, but not a very relaxing place. We had booked a Honeymoon room (all the others were sold out) for about 200 euros a night. I don't think it had a good relation price/quality. The room was nice, with a king sized bed decorated with rose petals. When we arrived at the room there was a small bottle of french champagne (Veuve Clicquot) and a basket of fresh fruit, which was nice! One of the main problems with the room, was that it didn't had a light blackout, so I awake every day at 6AM... The room didn't had a comfortable sitting area, although it was very big, and the wardrobe didn't had many space. The bathroom was ok, but the amenities weren't that good, and you had to wash your hair with bath gel...
The breakfast was nice. Indeed, it had a good variety of bread types, juices and jams, but little of fresh fruits. The staff was nice and helpful and the hotel is very clean. It had free internet on a computer located at the reception level, but it was seldom unoccupied. To conclude, I think this hotel will be a good choice if you get a good rate. For 200 euros a night, you might make a better choice by choosing one of the great hotels located at the Opernring.
Great Hotel but airco is lousy

We stayed in this hotel in the last week of june 2007. We had consulted travel advisor and concur with most of the good
comments of this hotel and the location. It was our wedding anniversery and I booked a superior room. The room was nice and roomy but the temperature inside was 28 degrees C. Outside it was 32C. I am well travelled and know the principle of airconditioning. I was very dissapointed with the reaction of the staff when I complained that the system was off and that I wanted it to be switched on. I was told that the system was working. I checked the temperature of the inblowing air and found it to be 27 degrees C. I am used to sleep in roomtemperatures of about 22 C and found it to be very uncomfortable. Further complains by me fell on deaf ears by the management as they confirmed it to be ok. Luckily the wether changed and it became cooler. Regardless the temperature was never below 24C. My roomnumber was 201. I would not use this hotel when the wether is hot.
