www.polrail.com is the Polish railway site in English. You may be able to find fares there. They may well be able to help you book tickets/sleeping accommodation.
http://www.bahn.de/international/view/en/index.shtml
will give you train times and details for almost all European trains.
Travel Tips for Vienna
City Tour & Schoenbrunn
by globetrott
City Tour & Schoenbrunn is the most popular tour in Vienna with several departures daily through-out the year. The bus will take you along the Ringstrasse, where you will see Oper - Hofburg - Rathaus - Burgtheater - Universitaet - MAK - Kunst- & Naturhistorisches Museum and finally also Belvedere (from a distance) and it will include a guided tour through Schoenbrunn .
This tour by "Vienna Sightseeing" is 34 Euros and a good opportunity to see Vienna within a short time.
march 25th-nov.1st daily at 09.45+10.30a.m.(ONLY german!)+02.45p.m.
nov.2nd-march 31st 09.45a.m.+02.00p.m.
the tours at 02.00p.m. from Mon-Thu are ONLY in german!
When you have enough time you may do it on your own, with a day-ticket of the public transportations, take tram #1 or #2 around the Ringstrasse and hop on and off as you like. Take U-4 to Schoenbrunn - the un-guided tours are around 10 Euros I made a seperate " SCHÖNBRUNN - page "with more than 30 pics and tips.

Visit a Heurigen! You don´t...

Visit a Heurigen! You don´t know what it is?
The word Heuriger actually has two meanings.
It refers to the taverns where wine-makers sell the wine they have produced.
It also refers to the 'new wine' from the last vintage, which is sold from 11 November (St Martin's Day) to 31 December of the following year. Wine-makers have had the right to have their own wine taverns since 795 AD, when Charlemagne ruled.
However, this right was only recognized officially by Emperor Josef II.
Typical Heurigen have large wooden tables and benches that resemble picnic tables. Visitors seat themselves and order their wine at the table. After a few glasses of wine, visitors then head up to buffet style counters to get their food and bring it back to the table.
In the northwest of Vienna you have a place called Grinzing. Many travel agencies have it on their programm. So it´s full of tourists but in the south of Vienna you have such places as well. If you have the possibility go to Perchtoldsdorf. It´s worth to visit, and not only for the Heurigen.

Ankeruhr
by bugulma
This clock (built 1911 - 1917) was created by the painter and sculptor Franz von Matsch and is a typical Art Nouveau design. It forms a bridge between the two parts of the Anker Insurance Company?s building. In the course of 12 hours, twelve historical figures or pairs of figures move across the bridge. Every day at noon, all of the figures parade, each accompanied by music from its era.
Stand on the RIGHT SIDE, please
by longsanborn
When you are using the stairs or escalators, please stand on the right side if you are not going up/down manually. Leave the left side clear for those who are in a hurry.
If you still insist on standing on the left side, be ready to be cursed or pushed by impatient people!
