Hotel Geblergasse

There are thieves in this hotel staff. I was robbed while I was in a quickly tour. The hotel works with a card system to open doors and my money was taken from my bag! Incredible, because I just did the check-in. Please, tell to all people that use this site, because I dont want that it happens with someone else.

Cuidado: existem ladroes no staff do hotel. O hotel trabalha com cartoes para abertura de portas e entram em nossos quartos e abrem nossa bagagem sem a menor cerimonia. Perdemos bastante dinheiro em uma pequena bolsa escondida entre nossas malas e ficarmos assustadas pois bastou que nos afastassemos por poucas horas para que algum funcionario entrasse em nosso quarto, justo no dia em que fizemos check-in, ou seja, sem necessidade de limpeza de quarto. Ja que nao tenho como reaver meu dinheiro, gostaria de precaver a todos para que nao passem pelo desespero que estou passando. Obrigada.

This is a no frills hotel that is extremely good value for Vienna. For 44 euros we got a huge room with two twin beds, en suite bathroom and free internet access for the laptop (cable provided by hotel if you ask). Breakfast was also good value at just 5 euros extra.

For 44 euros you can't expect a great deal. The place was very clean, but there were marks on all the walls like people had been running on them in big plastic boots. The shower door was loose and leaked, and the view was onto a roof and fire exit.

But the most important things were spot on: quite central, near a underground station, friendly staff, low cost, big room, clean and free internet. I don't need anything else.

Directions: Take U6 to Alser Strasse. Exit station (Thai restaurant side). Take a left. Take second right up Geblergasse. The hotel is about 200m on your left.

Pluses: nice breakfast, helpful personnel, free internet

Minuses: the first night we spent in a tiny room, on the 1st floor, with windows facing a narrow busy street, with no window blinds and a breakfast room right outside of our door. After we complained about missing blinds we got a better room.
