Extremely Comfortable Stay.

Best (5.0 of 5.0 stars)

We recently spent two nights at the Hotel Konzerthaus Vienna. To reach the hotel from the airport travel to Wien Mitte either by CAT or Schnell Bahn, then change to the U4 line and travel one stop to Stad Park. Exit the Johannesgasse exit, turn left onto Am Heumarkt, cross the road and go right the hotel is only five minutes walk away.

When we checked in, the man on reception was very welcoming, friendly and helpful, giving us a free city map, tourist leaflets and offering information about what to see and how to get around.

Our room was on the fourth floor it was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in, so comfortable it was tempting to go to sleep for two whole days!! The room also had tea/coffee making facilities and an in room safe.

Small bottles of l'occitane shampoo, conditioner, body lotion and shower gel were provided in the bathroom together with soap, cotton wool, cotton buds, a nail file and a shower cap.

The room had lots of storage space.

We did not eat at the hotel, but it did have a restaurant and bar. There were two supermarkets very close to the hotel - walk back towards the Stadt Park underground and follow the signs to the Spar. There was a Billa further along the same street. There were several restaurants on Am Heumarkt and more in the Stadt Park.

If you went out the hotel and went the opposite way from the Stadt Park you could quickly reach the Ring and were within very easy walking distance to the Opera, Albertina, Karl's Kirche, the fountain to the Russian heroes, the Belvedere. The location of the hotel was excellent for sightseeing.

Our room had an air-conditioner.

Internet access was free and the connection was very reliable in our room. Computers and a printer were provided downstairs (I assume free of charge, though we did not use them).

I would be delighted to stay here again and heartily recommend it.

Great Stay.

We recently spent three nights in the Mercure Josefshof Hotel, Vienna. The hotel is in an excellent location for sightseeing being almost on Vienna's famous ring. However, it is located up a small side street ensuring it is nice and quiet at night.

To get there we took the schnellbahn from the airport to the Prater Station then changed to the U2 line and got off at Rathaus Station. You will arrive on the opposite side of the road from the rathaus. If you are facing the rathaus go right, you will cross Josefs Strasse then arrive at a smaller lane called Josefs Gasse. The hotel is on this lane.

Check in was friendly and efficient. Free maps and tourist leaflets were given to us without us having to ask. Our room was on the top floor of the hotel so had characterful sloping ceilings. The room was clean and comfortable. We had quite a large balcony with a table and chairs where we occasionally sat to enjoy the rain!!! The room had an in-room safe, plenty of storage space, no tea/coffee making facilities. There were some handy heated pipes in the bathroom for drying our wet clothes.

The hotel had a restaurant which we did not use. There were plenty of places to eat nearby. We did not track down a nearby supermarket, though there may have been one we missed.

Our bed was very comfortable and we always had a good night's sleep.

Internet access was free in the hotel for the first 72 hours of your stay, i.e. our whole stay. Just ask for a password downstairs at reception. However, the service was a bit unreliable; it came and went. Whenever we went down and complained, reception tried very hard to remedy the problem. They claimed they were intending to improve their system.

Check-out was quick and efficient and the bill was correct.

I would happily stay here again.

Stayed July 2011, travelled as a couple

Verry nice place with some good qualities. It was nice because we were able to walk to many places of interest. Lobby was very nice, along with the staff.

Check-In Time:2 p.m.
Check-Out Time:12:00 p.m.

Unique Quality: The hotel is very close to the historic center
It's an old and nice building well renovated in a very quiet street.
Lobby offers one computer that allows you to go on the internet.
Few minutes from the shopping area.
The historical centre is within walking distance and nearby there are Town Hall, Parliament, Ringstrasse, Imperial Palace, museums district, National Theatre and Opera.
Near transportation links in a quiet lane. The hotel is just 500 meters (quater mile) away from city centre, few meters from the U2 Rathaus bus station, 5 (3 miles) km from the Westbahnhof railway station and 25 km (15 miles) from Vienna Airport.
