The Hotel Wandl is in a perfect location. Right off the Ringstrasse and close to Stephansdom, there is no shortage of things to do. Great restaurants and shopping at your fingertips. And it's close to the Manner store!!
Unique Quality: Fabulous location, nice staff.

Unique Quality: A centrally located hotel with ENORMOUS rooms. Ours looked out over a small street corner and if you craned your neck you could see St. Peter's church. [The picture is of that view]
My husband will be going to Vienna mid- to end of April for a conference at the UN. His organization's given him a choice of 3 different hotels: Wandl, Arcotel Kaisserwasser or NH Danube. If I were to join him, I'd like a hotel that's within walking distance to a subway station. Any suggestions/information would be greatly appreciated.

From the google maps and my knowlwdge of Vienna I can give this info:
Hotel Wandl is in very center of historical part - about 200 - 300 m from Stephan cathedral with metro station (2 lines) under the square. Many sights within walking distance, very good connections to other places.
Other two hotels are out of the center on the Donau river island - 6 metro stops from Stephan square. Arcotel Kaisserwasser is right next to the metro stop (and big streets crossing), NH Danube is around 700 m away (3 bus stops).
