Also in the heart of the city

I booked a room for a night in winter so I won't freeze after a night out. Plus the hotel had a special offer (almost half the price) so I gave it a go.

Unique Quality: Across the hotel is a moviehouse. Around it are good restaurants. The bus station that goes to the airport is a stone away. Metro station is only a few metres away. Room is not big but quite alright for a short stay.

In the middle of the town

People working in the head office in Vienna booked this hotel for us. Its a new/modern/recently rearranged hotel in the middle of the city. The morning buffet was excellent. Well since we had a seminar 2 minutes away it was more then convenient. But in the matter of prices maybe is expensive for a quick just leisure visit. It has all the comforts - LCD tv, room service, air conditioning, clean and very modern bathroom.

The unconveninet part is a parking space, that is quite far from the hotel.

Unique Quality: Very good location, modern appearance and nice selection of food for breakfast in a nice clean location.

Fair hotel

I spent almost 4 weeks in that hotel and it was quite good time.
The location is perfect, just 2 mins walk and you are in the very heart of Vienna. Unfortunately it means that it might be little bit noisy during the night.
The room is not the most nice one, it's quite small and there is no separate air-conditioning control working. Some of the rooms are already renovated and look nicer (walk-in shower, flat tv etc.) but the size stayed the same :-) The big disadvantage for me was the internet access which is provided by t-mobile only, so it's quite expensive.
A good points are definitely friendly and helpful staff and good breakfasts.
To sum up, if you need a location, it's the best deal for you, if not you may find better ones.

Accomodation

Good accomodation facilities, large rooms, good food. The only thing is that smokers should know that you are allowed to smoke only at the 7th floor.

One of the receptionists doesn't speak english, only german and hungarian :-)

Close to historical city center

I was pleased with the accomodations at this hotel. Its location was ideal and we were able to walk to Stephensplatz, Spanish riding school, Hopsburg palace easily.

I don't know whether it is custom or what have you, but I was surprised to find that the bed only consisted of a fitted sheet and a comforter, no flat sheet. The bathrooms lacked all those compimentary goodies you would expect and substituted it with a wall mounted soap/body wash dispenser.

Nonetheless it was a good hotel for our short 2 night stay in Vienna.

We made these reservations through priceline.com

Unique Quality: Great location near the city center on Fleischmarket Street.

Central indeed

The name Mercure is a guarantee of good quality, and you will not be disappointed.
Among the services you will find here are a beauty salon, hairdresser, newspaper shop, florist and a delicatessen shop.
An aficionado of the Mercure chain may find it comparatively small, but this is due to its location in a small street of the city centre.

Unique Quality: The location is ideal for those who want to live the city by day and also by night. In fact it is close to the Bermuda Triangle, the area of Vienna where the nights are more lively.
For the day-time tours, most of the main monuments are at walking distance, and for the other ones the underground and tram station of Schwedenplatz is conveniently near.

Hi!
www.hotelpension.at
has 2 nice hotels/pensions,one with 3 stars one with 4stars. Both of them are in a distance of about 200 meters from St.Stephens cathedral in the very centre of Vienna !
both of them have their own bus, that you may book for a cheap price for the transfer from the airport or train-station.
Pension Dr.Geissler offers doublerooms with private facilities already for 75 euros at the dates you are talking about !

Hi i was in vienna last july and must say it's really beautiful. We stayed at Intercity hotel vienna. It's really a very good hotel 4* and very near to the Westbanhof (within walking distance only about 5 minutes away) and all the public transport. It's on the street Mariahilf which is the most famous street for shopping. It's also got elevators and a fantastic buffet breakfast hot and cold !! . . it's official site is http://www.intercityhotel.at but for the rates check on http://www.wien.info/ in which i found the best rates even for other hotels. The prices are around Eur100 because they vary depending on the date. Please note that the prices that they give you is inclusive (free of charge) of the public transport ticket per person which you can use for every public transport (bus, underground, tram) during your stay in Vienna !! Even the staff is very nice and if i go back to vienna i will surely stay at this hotel. Hope this can help you a bit . . enjoy your stay in Vienna
