Novotel West

Clean and Reliable, Not Charming

My stay here was uneventful.

All the staff were friendly and polite. The room was similar to any moderately priced room in the USA, clean, comfortable and offering a selection of drinks in the little fridge.

I didn't spend much time in the room, except to sleep. The restaurant was small, quiet and the food was very good.

English was spoken, so all my needs were easliy met. I felt safe and comfortable. They offered a wake-up service and called the taxi for my morning's trip to the train station.

Unique Quality: Modestly priced. Near the West Bahnhof. This is the only hotel I actually stayed at in Europe.

It was chosen for me by a well meaning travel agent, because I had to be at the train station very early in the morning and this hotel was so close that the morning rush hour traffic wouldn't effect things in any way.

The employees were very nice and accommodating, but I felt disappointed that the hotel wasn't a quaint, charming old world place. Except for the fact that everyone spoke German, I couldn't tell this hotel from any average one in the USA that I've stayed in.
