Opening hours on easter saturday? (naschmarkt, merkur, H&M)

by fischert

Dear neighbours!

Can you give me some tips about opening hours on this saturday (april 3rd)?
We'd like to go for a one day shopping tour and have a nice walk on naschmarkt on this saturday (april 3rd). Will these shops be open:
- naschmarkt
- merkur
- h&m

Thanks for your answers ahead.

Tamás

Hi,

Thanks for your quick answer. I always mix sunday and saturday:-) that's why i wrote apr 3rd. I know that on sundays "everything" is closed.

So the naschmarkt open is shortened for the easter?
Usually it's open longer.

Thanks again, Tamás

In german language we speak only about easter sunday and monday, but never easter-saturday, that is where my confusion came from.
Karsamstag - that is our expression - is just like any other saturday of the year. I had the feeling that the naschmarkt closes at around noon on saturday and only the closeby fleamarket is open till 03.00pm
but now they also changed a lot and have plenty of restaurants there and these stay open later as well, but the foodstands will be closing.

Travel Tips for Vienna

Sightsee and eat at the same time

by TexasDave

If you plan a stop at the naschmarket, try to do so at a mealtime (lunch would be best). You can browse through all the neat stalls and have an inexpensive meal at the same- Middle Eastern gyro sandwiches, for example, followed by a pastry. Or just buy some fruit. The naschmarket is not too far from St. Karl's Platz and St. Karlskirche.

Athosphere of XIX century imperial town

by Raimix

The special atmosphere of XIX century makes architecture and the carriages with two horses. These carriages are the special transportation from one side of city to another.

In my picture it is showed the carriage and two horses. The central parts there this transportation is offered are Stephansdom square and places near Hofburg palace.

St. Stephen´s Cathedral...

by andreavienna

St. Stephen´s Cathedral (Stephansdom)´s history began in 1140, when the Bishop of Passau ordered the construction of a new parish church outside the existing city walls.
The Romanesque structure was dedicated to St.Stephen and consecrated in 1147. The church underwent almost complete renovation in the middle of the 13th century.
There would be soooooo much to tell, you have to go there and see it with your own eyes! :-)

Votivkirche

by bugulma

Votivkirche is on the Ringstra?e and is within walking distance of Rathaus. Historically, the church was commissioned by Emperor Franz Joseph after a mentally ill tailor tried to kill him. The Emperor survived, and ordered the church built on the spot where the attack happened. The church was built by Heinrich von Festel in 1856-1879.

Typical beerhouse food

by FRONA

in Schweitzerhaus you will find a typical so called Schweinschpitze roll (pork) baked in a crust with oven baked potatoes and fresh cabage salad. As a little side dish you will get cut turnip and some very nice salty rolls. What usually comes as well is a portion of very tasty mustard as well as some hot horseraddish. Is a special feeling to do this in the brewery garden and of course have a pint of beer! Enjoy!
