So easy!

Things that would have made a stay at Suzanne better -
- some printed info. about the hotel, breakfast times etc, also fire exit info - my room was on the 7th floor; also clearer key instructions - I panicked the first night when I couldn't get my corridor key to work (it matters which way round you put it in), because there's no desk staff later in the evening
- some fruit at breakfast! Breakfast was on the dull side, the exact same bread, ham and cheese every day
- lighting - the Pension sign was switched off at night and there was no light in the inner foyer, although ambient light from the streets
Good things:
-Location! a couple of hundred yards from the Opera house and from Karlsplatz Ubahn
- Friendly staff
- Very efficient chambermaids
-Comfortable bed
- Huge bathroom and very hot water
- Good prices (E74 a night, including breakfast for a single)
- Having your own front door key - felt a bit more 'resident' and less 'tourist'

There are no bells and whistles but I will definitely go there again and would happily recommend it to people.

Unique Quality: Location! Just a couple of hundred yards from Hotel Sacher, one of the most expensive hotels in Vienna, so the same views/access for a fraction of the price.

Homey atmosphere

This is an older pension which has not been made to look like it was designed yesterday. It has an ageing charm and an offbeat feel. If you are looking for a shiny, modern hotel this is probably not for you. We enjoyed it very much and got good service.

Unique Quality: The location is wonderful. The breakfast room is a charming place that feels like you are in a home. The food and the ambience were lovely.

great quiet location- you can walk to most of the attractions in city and loads of restaurants, bars close-by.Handy for underground too and connection for CAT (train to/from Airport- 9 euros single)
We had large appartment-style room with possibility of kitchenette but we had no kitchen.I would book early next time for room with ensuite -its cheaper for the same facilities and you don't have so many doors to separate WC and 2 into bathroom.Very clean and breakfast quite good.Staff are friendly and speak English.

Great Location

My sister and I stayed at this hotel for three nights in December. The location was perfect, the rooms clean, the staff extremely helpful, and the breakfast sufficient. The room keys were very tough to use. This is the hotel for you if you are more concerned with location and being centrally located than luxury accomodations. The price was right as well. We would stay here again for sure. In fact my sister will be staying there again in June.

Perfect for the price

You really can't ask for a better location. Inside the ring and 1 block from the Opera. You can walk just about anywhere you'd want to from here, and there's plenty of mass transit right by the opera. The rooms are very big for europe - especially at this price - and the breakfast is substantial. If you can deal without a full-service hotel, you cannot beat this pension. I just wish they'd put shower curtains in the bathroom. Does everyone in europe take baths?

Stayed at this hotel during July 2006-

This is a pension with great potential as it is in a good location, but for the price they charge they must at least provide a decent matress, not a worn out one on a flat board. Worst night sleep in a long while.

While antique furniture can be expected to have a few knocks, the furniture is very worn and carpets and general decor on the very tired side. Even the bedding has a grubby feel. dusty and unpleasant.

It is also extremely noisy if you are in a room on the road side.

Only the continental breakfast was pleasant.

We were very disappointed and would not stay there again.

I think the other reviews summarize PS very well: great location, great price and excellent service. The rooms tend to be small but the bathrooms were amazingly big and clean. Free internet access in the lobby is very helpful and saves a ton of money considering the cost of the internet cafes in the area. Management was friendly and went out of their way to make us feel at home. The continental breakfast is a nice touch.

Quality at a great price

Great location and perfect room. If you do not like using a hand held shower piece, book a room with a shower, we just had a tub.
Very clean and not the best buffet, but ok for tea and toast/cheese.

Excellent Location, Highly Recommended

The location of this hotel couldn't possibly be more perfect. It's near the opera, a parking garage, the shopping district, the palace and everything else you'd want to see. The rooms are large and clean, and the breakfast is excellent. The staff are very friendly, and the Internet is free. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would stay again in a heartbeat.

P.S. When you're in Vienna, be sure to visit the Haus der Musik. It doesn't sound like much fun, but we all argreed that it was easily the most fun and interesting attraction we encountered throughout all of Europe during our three-month trip. We went back twice! Don't miss it.
