The Starlight Suites were very...
The Starlight Suites were very nice and a delightful place to stay--close walking distance to the center of town.
Unique Quality: Suites offer kitchenette and two seating areas, one inside bedroom and one outside. Very plush and comfortable. Continental breakfast buffet is included.

Vienna Easter
Will be in Vienna on Easter. What should I expect? Will everything be closed for holidays on Monday? Any suggestions from locals as to festivities worth seeing? Is there a traditional Easter lunch or dinner I should try?
Will be arriving from Laa/Thaya to Wien Leopoldau. Is that too far from Starlight Suiten Am Salzgries Hotel which I will be staying?

Salzburg might be worth a visit if you have the time. It has this lovely shop called "Easter in Salzburg" which is right in the city centre and has a fabulous collection of Hand painted easter eggs (about a million of them!)

At first I have to say: Austria follows catholic holidays and that way friday march 21st is an ordinary workingday (only protestant employees will have a holiday, as Good friday is their highest holiday)
Sat. before easter is also an ordinary saturday, so shops will close 05.00-06.00pm, some already at 02.00pm
restaurants, museums etc. will be open all days, shops will be closed also on Easter-Monday !
From Leopoldau take the metro U1 and get out at Schwedenplatz and you have to walk about 400 meters to maria am Gestade :

Great time to be in Vienna. Expect most stores to be closed on Easter Monday. Museums, cafes and restaurants are mostly open. Since easter is a very catholic holiday try and go to church to witness the celebrations. Your hotel is located very conveniently - you are close to U4 and U1.
