  • This is a wonderful hotel, with excellent service, a friendly pleasant bar, spectacular rooms - especially if you can get a balcony overlooking the village, incredible breakfast and dinner buffets, a large olympic size indoor swimming pool and a number of strategically places lounges. It is only a very short walk into the village across a bridge over a stream that runs through the village. This was one of the three best places we stayed on our 15 day tour and the only one in Austria of the three (see our pages on Switzerland and Germany, when posted, for the other two).

    As I told you there are many alpine pastures in the Alps. The owners are friendly people who want to have fun whith their guests. If you need a place to sleep or make breakfast you can stay in such a house. I think the price is not as expensive as a hotel but the fun is the same or better :-)

    Sometimes you can see some chicken, cows and goats on the same area as the house.

    You can also stay at a holiday home for a while. If you want to stay at such a house you should ask whether you can get some rolls for breakfast. A holiday house is just a house where you can sleep and stay when the weather is not very good to do something outside.

    The palace in Mitersil not far from Salzburg. It is a perfect place to stay, to study and even to work. The palace is in the mountains. Very beautiful places around.
    you can stay there for the price for students and also in the best apartaments where even princes spended her honey month.

  • When my class of high school went to Wien we stayed in Hungary in Mosonmagyaróvár. This town is near Wien. It was the cheapest solution.

    I stayed at the Weysmayr Hotel. It was nice, the staff very friendly. This is the waterfall near the hotel... there is a pizza joint right next to it, the owner is hilarious!!
    expensive, go with a group for a discount..

In small villages, one need just look for green plakards with 'ZIMMER' on it.- PORTUGUÊS - A Áustria tem uma espécie de sistema 'bed and breakfast' por todo o país. Nas aldeias, basta procurar as placas verdes que dizem 'ZIMMER' - FRANÇAIS - L'Autriche possède un système 'bed and breakfast' partout. Dans les petits villages, il suffit de chercher les plaques avec 'ZIMMER' écrit dessus.

    This is one of the most famous hotels in Austria - this castle is Schloss Orth in Gmunden/Traunsee - and it is used as the scenery for a hotel-series on TV - but it is a 'marriage certification bureau' - and plenty of people want to book in the wonderful hotel...
