The valley has a great variety of hotels and holiday flats. Usually the flats are quite near to the skiing resort, maybe 10 min away by car. They are fully equipped and cousy.

55 euros for a twin and very large room with breakfast and evening's dinner.
You must know that the breakfast is giant and that you can take what you want to take out to eat in the afternoon, while you're walking for instance.

Very pleasant and large rooms, delicious meals, marvelous location, on 1500 m, in a small village but not far from many intresting locations and an incredible service with a lot of imagination.
Each day activities are proposed (walking in the evening with musical surprise, breakfeast in the montain, near the waterfall), special activities and meals for children. Everybody is very kind and helpful. I never saw such an hotel, really. I've found it by searching on the Internet, without any recommandation and it was really a dream.

it's a fun hostel in a small skiresort alot of young people,with wooden banche's.

The hotel stands in one of Austria’s most scenic landscapes, on the shores of Lake Hallstatt.
It is the only hotel in the region to offer a large outdoor heated swimming pool, terrace, sunbathing area and playing ground. These are open to the public.
The hotel also has a fine restaurant. Chef Michael specializes in local dishes and fish which he sometimes sets out to catch himself !

Due to the high level of tourism in Austria it's practically impossible to find a place without at least one hotel and/or family pension. The latter are an omnipresent type of accommodation matching well their Alpine surroundings. Some of them are named 'Jugendspension' and should therefore be close to the concept of hostel. Campsites are also very frequent, but take some warm clothes for the Alpine nights which can get really cold even in the hottest of summers.
