We got this hotel on a cheap last minute deal from Thomson's website. It was 4* rated and I think it deserves every one of those. The food was first class, with a really wide variety of dishes to choose from in the evening (preordered the night before) & the choice at breakfast was truly amazing. The hotel also had a pizza restaurant which you could eat in if you didn't fancy the main menu. Again, there was a really good choice of dishes on that menu. The staff were also incredibly helpful & friendly.
We stayed at the hotel on an all inclusive basis which meant we could eat lunch in every day or take a packed lunch. We also got free drinks until 10pm every day, which was great after a long days walking - we could get back and wind down in the bar with a nice cold beer. They have a smallish pool in the hotel annexe which made for a very cooling swim before dinner. There was also a trampoline & a table tennis table in the garden - both of which seemed very popular. We had an amazing view of the Wilder Kaiser mountains from our room's balcony. It just took our breath away when we came into the room for the first time. It was so amazing to have that view when waking up in the morning too. Art Hotel Blaue Gans, Salzburg by Paul2001 Artstadhotel Blaue Gans in Salzburg 129 Euros.
This is a hotel with a really good atmosphere. It is in a 600 year old building in the old town of Salzburg. In fact if I recall correctly there has actually been a hotel or inn on this spot since 1450. It has a fine restaurant, a great bar and at the time that I stayed there, a very friendly staff. Unfortunately(depending upon your point of view) the hotel has been upgraded and renovated since stayed there. Hence the prices have increased considerably. The hotel is located at Getreidegasse 41-43 5020 Salzburg, Austria. City Club Hotel by Rhondaj As it was Easter weekend, everything in our usual price range (and below) was booked up, so we wound up in the lap of luxury at the City Club hotel. This place is huge! You have to carry a pass around with you to gain entry to the various parts of the hotel.
The calling card of this hotel is the large, rectangular pyramid dome, under which sits the main recreations/facilities of the hotel. The hotel calls it their Tropical Paradise. The pool area is set up as an outdoor beach resort. There are islands, sand, bridges, palm trees, fountains, pools leading into other pools. Inside pools, outside pools. The huge pool area is surrounded by restaurants, a fitness center, three tennis courts, shops, massage, tanning, and sauna salons.
