 | Austria Reviews | Tips 81 - 90 of 170 | | Easiest to reach when you arrive by car! Luckily we where not too late so (the camping site consisted of several terraces) we found a shady spot under the trees......it was 30 degrees Celsius +, day after day!
Nothing unique, but cheap and convenient, with an underground station nearby and a fine Italian restaurant as a neighbour! Very comfortable.... Leave a Comment Theme: Campground

34 EUR (30 USD)
The hotel stands in one of Austria’s most scenic landscapes, on the shores of Lake Hallstatt. It is the only hotel in the region to offer a large outdoor heated swimming pool, terrace, sunbathing area and playing ground. These are open to the public. The hotel also has a fine restaurant. Chef Michael specializes in local dishes and fish which he sometimes sets out to catch himself ! The Lebzelter is located at a site that has been a hotel or inn since the 15th century. It has, of course, been redone several times. But basically, if you're looking for clean and comfortable accomodation in a little Tirolean alpine town, right in the HEART of town, the Lebzelter is the place. And, the "cavern bar" below the hotel can really get rowdy (good rowdy) during ski season....especially if a bunch of Norwegian teenagers show up.
Clean, simple rooms and very much representative of Austrian hospitality, or as they'd say....."gemutlichkeit". When we were skiing in Silvretta Nova in Austria we stayed at a pension. Being American I had never stayed at one before. I thought it was so much fun. The family was so wonderful and even though I couldn't speak to them... they didn't speak english. I could tell they were really friendly and nice people. The pension was nestled in the mountains and overlooked a storybook town. The fluffy down comforters were the best thing to come home to after a long day of skiing. The Parkhotel Schonbrunn, Viennas largest hotel complex and right next to Schonbrunn Palace. I stayed there and it was a great location for wandering through the palace gardens (but it is located away from the city). One of the few hotels that can consider itself 'Emperor-approved'. Built in 1907 as a guesthouse for VIPs visiting Franz Josef at Schonbrunn. .
Restaurant, bar, cable, satellite, garden, indoor swimming poor, spa, solarium, fitness studio. . This is one of the most famous hotels in Austria - this castle is Schloss Orth in Gmunden/Traunsee - and it is used as the scenery for a hotel-series on TV - but it is a 'marriage certification bureau' - and plenty of people want to book in the wonderful hotel... For more infos and pics about this lovely place - please have a look on my Gmunden-page ! Leave a Comment

A safe and clean hostel quite close to the heart of Imperial Vienna. A night in a dorm cost Euro 14. Book ahead. Expect grumpy and unfriendly staffs at the reception counter though. Very noisy when filled with school groups. Leave a Comment

As I told you there are many alpine pastures in the Alps. The owners are friendly people who want to have fun whith their guests. If you need a place to sleep or make breakfast you can stay in such a house. I think the price is not as expensive as a hotel but the fun is the same or better :-) Sometimes you can see some chicken, cows and goats on the same area as the house. You can also stay at a holiday home for a while. If you want to stay at such a house you should ask whether you can get some rolls for breakfast. A holiday house is just a house where you can sleep and stay when the weather is not very good to do something outside. Leave a Comment Theme: Bed and Breakfast
