Hotel-Pension Bosch: Great Vienna Pension

by DueSer

Located on a quiet street just a short walk from Vienna's botanical gardens & the Belvedere Museum (home to Klimt's "The Kiss"), this nice pension is a perfect base for exploring the city. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the smaller room, where I stayed, had a toilet just across the hall. There was a couch, tv, and nice view of the neighborhood from my window. Breakfast is served in a large dining room every morning and the food was very good. There are also laundry facilities available.

The tub/shower is located a ways from most of the rooms but that's the only problem and for the great room at a reasonable price, it's a small complaint.

They only take cash.

Close to several tourist sites and the subway without feeling like you are right downtown and yet you're not so far out of the city center that it takes a long time to get where you want to go.

Strawberry Hostel: Hostels....

by grets85

Would really recommend this hostel but it is open only in the summer. It's located about 10 mins walk along the river to downtown. Along the river, there were stalls with different stuff. It is also about 15 mins walk from the train station.

It was very clean the the staff were very helpful. The internet was also free. At the reception they can organise pick up for you if you want to do one of the tours.

Breakfast wasn't included think it was about €2 or €2.50.

There was a great view out of the hostel as it was beside the river.

There was a church nearby and the bells rang early in the morning, I thought it was cool but some people may not.

Salzburg Renaissance Congress Center: Good 'american style' comfort in Salzburg

by stapler40

Located a few minutes walk from the Salzburg rail station. This hotel is in the Mariott chain and offers american style accomadation. The hotel is located 15 minutes from the Old Town, but for the price they offer a 15 minute walk is not so bad.

Pool, exercise room.
Unfortuately they charge for internet use in their 'business' center, located off the lobby. Nice restaurant serving a buffet breakfast. For evening the bar offers standard 'american style' food. Try the club sandwich, it is really good.

K+K Marie Theresa: Great Location for reasonable price

by stapler40

An excellent choice for a 4 star hotel, located a few minutes walk from the major museums. K+K have two hotels in Vienna and a excellent restaurant in Salzburg. For the price you will be hard to fine a better choice in such a great location. It is located right behind the museum center, just off Burggasse.

Nice bar located in the lobby, serving light lunches and dinner. They have a internet center, located off the lobby, with four computer, a printer for you to use. Unlike other hotels they do not extra charge for the use of the internet.

Pension Löffler, Semmering: Beautiful simplicity in Austria

by saxel177

We stayed here half pension and enjoyed it very much. We needed a room for five, as we have three young children and they arranged for us to have a small apartment on the top floor. The room had fresh wooden floors and comprised of an entrance room with a little kitchenette, two sleeping rooms - the smaller one with two single beds and a desk, and the larger room with a double bed and a bed sofa, that was made up for our youngest, there was also a table and chairs in this room. The bathroom was connected to the larger room and had a shower.
The downside with the room for us is that the skylights did not have any form of blinds or curtain so it did shorten sleep somewhat for our children, but by the end of our holiday the children had got used to lighter rooms.
We were late to the pension due to horrendous rain, and despite the fact that the kitchen was about to close we were warmly received although hurried along. This was no problem for us as we were all very hungry.
we had a choice of liver dumpling or noodle soup for starters and then for main course it was pork with pasta and sauce or stuffed paprika, and cheesecake to finish off with. The soup and the dessert were good. The main course was average, but tasty, but there again it was very beige - pasta, pork and creamy sauce!!
We slept well. The room was quiet and of a high standard.
Breakfast was great - and for my children one of the highlights of the holiday (as we self catered the rest of the holiday) our table was decked out with cups, saucers and orange juice. There were baskets filled with little packages of nutella, patés, soft cheeses and jams. A plate of hams, sausage and cheese came out aswell as a basket of breadrolls (semmel) and slices of brown bread. The children got to drink creamy hot chocolate and we parents drank delicious coffee (REALLY good coffee). A good start to the day.

A small place with big ideas. They want an organic basis and try to provide local food. The room was big, clean and had beautiful wooden floors. It has a simple elegance without the fuss of it being a luxury hotel. You feel indulged at the same time as you feel at home.

Hotel Pension Adlerhof: Perfect Pension in Salzburg

by DueSer

This pension is located a 2 minute walk from Salzburg's Hauptbahnhof. It is also only a 10-15 minute walk from the heart of the city.

It is a clean and inexpensive pension. They have comfortable beds, showers, phones, and tvs in the room. Breakfast is included. It's not a terrific breakfast but it is a basic spread.

They rent bicycles (as of April 2008 it was 10 Euros for under 8 hours, 15 Euros for over 8 hours). Salzburg is the perfect place for bike riding.

Courtyard By Marriot: Excellent Hotel in Vienna

by Wife_of_chaser

This hotel is placed within a blocks distance of Schoenbrunn Palace. The people were very helpful and accomodating, the service was excellent, the food was authentic, and the room was immaculate. Very close to the #4 Ubahn station, a bus line across the street, and on the next block are restaurants, grocers, & bakeries. Very easy to feel at home here, the security was top notch, and the rooms are very efficient, the lights come on with the key card and the windows have sliding shutters that close by button or when you exit the room for the day. Miad service came every day, nothing was ever moved that shouldn't have been and the room was kept very clean and so nice. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Vienna.

The surroundings make you feel at home, like you are a part of the city life and not just a visitor. Everything you need to get around, eat, shop, or sightsee is very close by and easy to access.

Hotel Dollinger: A nice small hotel

by envelnikki

This was a very cozy hotel, in other words a classic non-modern hotel with character. :]

Graf Hotel: A good hotel in St.Pölten

by Fam.Rauca

It is a new renovated three stars hotel, placed in front of the main railway station of St.Pölten.

The rooms of the hotel are clean and comfortable, with TV, phone, shower, and a homely atmosphere.

The hotel offer a good traditional restaurant and parking place for the cars of the visitors.
