I only had one night at the Yubileiny but it was a better experience and certainly better value for money than the other two nights I spent at the neighbouring Planeta Hotel.
The room was a single but it was reasonably spacious. All of the facilities worked fine and I thought it matched the standards of other city centre hotels I've stayed in.
The reception staff were pleasant , polite and all spoke English.
Buffet breakfast was OK but be careful what you chose. One little deep fried crispy thing had nothing but a glob of liquid fat inside. Otherwise it was fine.
All in all I felt the Yubileiny was good value for money. It is located reasonably close to the 'old quarter' ( not that there is much of that left in Minsk) but its location overlooking the river is pleasant. It took me only about 5 - 10 minutes to walk to the Nemiga Metro station and thereafter into the city centre.
I wish I had stayed here again for the two nights after my birdwatching tour rather than booking into the more expensive Planeta Hotel.
Unique Quality: Good location. Reasonable value for money. Reasonable breakfast.
Directions: Come out of Nemiga Metro station and walk down Pobediteley . The hotel is the third large skyscraper on the left.
I stayed in a single superior room (but it is not very superior) in June 2011. The price per night (incl breakfast) is about 100 USD. Located near the center. Some value for money.
Paid Wi-fi available, the price was very low.
The reception speaks English.
Directions: About 800m from Hemiga metro station.
The hotel was perfectly located so that it was easy either to walk, take a taxi or walk to the nearest metro station and take a metro.
In the hotel there was different restaurant for different purposes: the breakfast room, the Sabrina bar in the 2nd floor (which was a cosy place to have a drink or eat something; though more expensive than in restaurants downtown). Again, there was a place called Texas bar which we never visited (strip-tease show every night at 20:00 until wee hours), and a small casino downstairs.
There was also a hairdresser saloon in the hotel. Also a small kiosk for souvenirs and newspapers.
The reception staff spoke understandable English and also helped with taxi orders if needed.
The only thing we missed was the promised sofa/couch to sit and write postcards while zipping some local beer and the promised personal room safety box. (We had ordered the business room just for these purposes).
Unique Quality: Nice view from 11th floor window - just the opposite of our hotel there was a building where there was a huge painting which reminded us the Soviet times - soldiers with the flag and a big text "Belarus".
Another nice view from outside - over the river - and we could see parts of the old town nicely lit.
Cleanliness of the hotel, rooms and their bathrooms. Good breakfast (included in the price).
Location. In the building next to our hotel there was a supermarket open very late, so you could buy delicacies and drinks to your room (beer, wine, sparkling wine, vodka) - e.g. beer cost only some 0,30 EUR (0,5 l). Many times cheaper than in restaurants.
We used our minibar as a fridge. We also bought some sausages/salami, cheese and potato chips with the beer while writing the postcards in the hotel room and letting our feet rest after lots of sightseeing and walking and before going out again for the evening/night.
Very good location of the hotel (you can walk virtually anywhere downtown). Clean rooms, friendly English speaking staff. Breakfast is so so. Conveniently located right next to a supermarket. Note that this hotel is owned by the Best Eastern group.
Unique Quality: Air conditioning, minibar, television, nice desk and chair.
