220092 Belarus Minsk Pushkin Avenue 39
Basic tourist class hotel.
Located three metro stations from centrum at the corner of street crossing
which is a minus fot the hotel. I prefer hotels at he centrum.
The breakfast was good.
Based on experiences of several people from our group the hotel restaurant was good on April 2012.
Soup, main course, small glass of vodka and a beer costed 95 000 which was about 8 Euros.
At the opposite corner outside there is fast food place McD... (something ... what was the third letter o?) which I definetly did not visited. It was very crouded when I walked by.
At the moment only two capital citied of Europe are happy not to have this Mcd... (something) - Tirana and Reykjavik.
At anoher corner of the street crossing there is a nice pizzeria Pizza Foot(or name something like that) which was full of local people. One pizza and beer costed 46 000 which was about 4 Euros.
At the fourth corner of the street crossing there is a casino which I of cource did not visited.
Close right from the hotel there is shopping hall for food and behind it is a bigger shopping center and a market behind it.
Opposite right from the shopping hall there is a post office and postcards can be bought at the small stall outside the shopping place.
Someone of us tried hotel pizzeria once and it was not so good as the pizzeria opposite.
I could not find any other restaurants near by.

Directly at the metro station
Orbita was the first hotel that I visitet back in 2002 and I liked it. If you don't like the food you can quickly cross the road and go to McDonnalds :-). It is more a business hotel and therefor not the best place for holidays. However if you need a quick connection to other places use the metro directly under the crossroad.

Belarus Hotel a good deal
After two nights in the Hotel Belarus, the Arbita (Orbit) was a breath of fresh air- though not necesarily in my room! By western standards this was a pretty nice place to stay. My room had been recently "remodeled" with noticebly new furniture that looked like it was straight from Ikea- not cheap, but not fancy. Although the room was a smoking room, it was comfortable and very clean. I enjoyed my stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone- just one tip. The restaurant was just average- with many menu items unavailable. The wait staff was fairly pleasant but not overly friendly and the food was just ok. All in all our 8 day stay was nice enough.
Unique Quality: Nothing very outstanding to comment about, except that there was a McDonalds across the street (if you feel the need) and the was a Metro (subway) station on the corner.
