Hotel Martin ( Central): Best Location

by Bonkers11

Brilliant location, quiet except for the bells of the central church, but even these went unoticed. Breakfast was full and plentisome, staff were extremely friendly.

A down side is that they charge for internet access, by the hour or by the day.

Polaris hotel: Ostend sea side resort

by alectrevor

An upgraded hotel , my room was deluxe, comfortable bed, tv , hairdrier,en suite with jazuzi bath. About 100 euro single night with breakfast , breakfast was a large choice. There is a lift,, room door lock was by card. Next door is a Chinese restuarant and a small cosy bar Jackary.

Hotel Amigo, Brussels: The Rocco Forte Collection

by Rubidia

I stayed at this hotel and have nothing bad to say! It was a wonderful stay from the moment you arrive, the doors are opened for you and you are welcomed. Front desk staff were friendly. The rooms themselves are beautiful and modern. The full bathroom was huge compared to other hotels I have stayed in. They do have a mini bar that is fully stocked, but I would be careful because the prices are a bit expensive.

Auberge de jeunesse Jacques Brel: My home in Brussels; the J.Brel hostel

by Shannon077

Having lived in this hostel 3 months as an intern, I have a good idea of what its like here.

It is a hosteling international hostel so if you do not have your membership card you might get charged and extra 3 euro, however we never checked if people where members while I worked there.Prices are fair and breakfast is simple but healthy. The breakfast woman is a bio freak and tries to get as much bio foods into the breakfast as possible.

The hostel takes in a lot of groups and sometimes you can be staying in the hostel with a group of 50 school kids which I must say can be very irritating. However in the summer after end-of-the-year school trips are over, the travelers are mostly individuals and a few people traveling together which makes for great atmosphere.

Laundry is a bit expensive 4 euro to wash,4 euro to dry. They give you the soap.
Elevator in the older section of the building is handy. No elevator in the newer section sucks a bit.
Free locker room, with very big lockers.

Surveillance cameras and a gate that is locked at night (can be opened from inside of with your room card) makes it quite safe , but still beware of pickpockets..they are all over Brussels and strike often and very subtly!!!

The twin room on the first floor up is great

The location is great in my opinion, right between Madou metro station and botanique metro station. About 10 minutes walk into the center,if that.Great turkish food just a block away.

One of the barmen loves to talk with the travelers and introduce them to Belgian bands on the rise.

In the summer barbecue and Dj nights.

Even though it is a youth hostel, people of all ages can stay there.Discounts for -26 yrs old , - 12 years old and free for less then 3 I believe.Must ask details at reception. Maximum 6 night stays.

Express by Holiday Inn: Simple and affordable hotel.

by Rosey-K

Pleasant stay with breakfast.

Could be a bit noisy as the rooms are not sound proof.

Free parking is not available with this hotel. Have to find your own.

If you are lucky, there are parking places in front of the hotel but subject to the normal fees.

Plenty of choice for a basic breakfast. Room is clean and neat.

Hilton - Brussels: Trop Cher. Beaux Hotel

by acommon1

Finally, I found a hotel in Europe where I could warm up in my room. Of course, this is a European Union and United Nations business and social haven.

Typical 4 - 5 star. Very accommodating.

The staff turned out to be right on amiable. The accepted a last minute reservation after another hotel had shutdown their front desk. So, I'll always appreciate the welcoming staff for my accommodations.

Lybeer Travellers Hostel: Brugges Hostel

by ilovenewjersey

I stayed here for 2 nights. My reservation was for a 1 BR ensuite. The spiral stairway's too narrow that I was gasping for air when I got up to the 3rd floor. No elevator. My stay was made worthwhile by the friendly staff (Richard), otherwise, my BR was one of the smallest room I've seen. The sink can't hardly be use for brushing since it was too 'tiny' , bathroom was standing shower. This was my first time stay in a Hostel, I wanted to runnnnn. Anyway, the location was terrific. It's near to almost everything. You can walk to their medieval town, the canals, and chocolate factories. The best thing about staying in that Hostel was, they give you this free map, and they'll tell you were to eat for cheap, buy authentic stuffs, and etc. That small brochure/map was worth it. But for the price I paid( 37 euros per night), I can't complain.

The reception area, meeting people.

AUBERGE DE POTEAUPRE: SLEEP WITH THE BEER

by mtncorg

If you want to taste Chimay beer at its source, here is the place. There is a large dining area – an adjacent souvenir shop where you can also buy beer and cheese – as well as a large outside seating area that overlooks a vast meadow. Nothing quite like sitting outside on a sunny afternoon – early spring evenings are even better – with a glass of Chimay to sip as you contemplate the meadow and forests beyond which hide the source of the Oise River. Upstairs are several rooms where you can spend a comfortable night not worrying about that extra Chimay you might have just imbibed.

Hotel Formule One, Antwerp: A two star hotel

by hopang

Hotel Formule One located at Antwerpen Noord is a two star budget hotel for motorists travelling across mainland Europe. The amenities and facilities are simple and basic with bathroom/WC located at the corridor. The three storey hotel has approximately 60 rooms which can accommodate up to three persons per room. A simple reasonable price buffét breakfast can be booked the night before your breakfast. The dinning room is located just opposite the reception counter.

Its unique quality is its location along the busy highway.

I've stayed only one night in this hotel and couldn't sleep too much;it is very close to the Zaventeem airport so you'll hear the planes !!they have a shuttle bus but you have to call them for that otherwise it won't come!
they have good facilities in the room (free internet +plug+ keyboard)also a kettle and tea, coffee for free;
pubs and shops in the area!!
