Ibis Charleroi Centre Gare: Few hotels in Charleroi

Charleroi has hardly any hotels which isn't surprising since it has hardly any tourists either. The Ibis is one of the few and is modern and extremely convenient, being close the train / bus station and the shops.
Ibis Charleroi Centre Gare: Stay out of the shower between 5pm & 6.30pm

My room was comfortable and clean. It was at times inconvenient when the maid came to clean the room at 5.30pm/6pm. After having been out since approx 9.30am every morning, I would come back late afternoon to get ready to go out for a meal when she usually came. The room also did`nt have a hairdryer although in the room descriptions it says it does. The reception staff were friendly but were not good when I asked where certain shops were located. I would stay at the hotel again but this time would ask for the room to be cleaned in the morning or afternoon during the 7 hours or so I was out each day.
The Ibis, in a great location opposite the station, was really nice, clean and comfortable and with a great view of the station and the lovely Sambre river (hmm). Seriously though the showers here were to die for - the water comes from three directions!! At only 70 Euros a night on weekends (75 weekdays) it was worth it.
