Visiting the St Waudru Church by ptitetoile
This is the Church dedicated to the protecting Saint of Mons called Waudru. It contains her reliquary which is situated above the altar in the chor. It contains also the Golden Charriot on which the reliquary is fixed during the procession that takes place on the trinity Sunday. For more info about St Waudru and the procession : see the travelogue "Mons, town of the doudou".
The Church is a symbol of Mons. Altough it is situated in the province "Hainaut", it is one of the best example of the gothic architecture of the province "Brabant". It looks very massive from the outside but from the inside, the impression of high verticality dominates.
