This town square area has a couple of restaurants and bars that are quite quaint and a nice stop for an Eupener bier. One bar on the corner (to the left 130 meters facing the church) was especially friendly. Eupen itself has a special feel as part of Belgium and speaking nearly only German. A friend and I used to frequent this square.
Normal people take the stairs, unnormal people can climb this tower with a little more effort, from the outside.
I haven't done it yet, but definitely will do it this summer and report afterwards!
It's Belgium, but you can't really see a lot of differences to Germany, abroad but not really abroad.
The lake on the photo is located in a nice rural region with great walking and hiking, just looking around the storage lake, have a coffee or climb the look-out (see tip).
