There is a contact email address on this page:

http://www.museedarmes.be/home.htm

but the website suggests that the museum remains closed to the public for a indeterminate length of time ('En raison d'importants travaux de rénovation, les collections sont inaccessibles au public pour une durée indéterminée.')

Travel Tips for Liège

Liége en nuit

by m-joy

I visited Liege several times and I can assure that Liege is beautiful at night - even when it rains al lot! I can really recommend to make a stroll around the Old Town in the evening or at night. The squares, pubs and historic buildings are beautifully illuminated.

Main city in Wallonia

by DanielF

Liege is Wallonia's largest city and its cultural centre. But in fact, Liège has also a strong personality by itself, as a result of the many centuries of rule under the Princes-Bishops as a virtually independent state.

Liege is also the hometown of some of the most famous Belgian writers in French, among them Georges Simenon.

I had the privelege of helping to set up and also attending a wedding Reception in Liege. They did a variety of stange little dances and more common ones like the 'tunnel dance' Mostly to american oldies the men also made 'do-rags' out of napkins (I dont know if this is a tradition or just them being strange).

And if the weather is too bad...

by B_Caro

And if the weather is too bad to go outside, well then you can pay a visit to Chocolatier Jacques in Eupen.

There you can visit the Chocolat Museum, as well as the factory (the factory only during the week).

And there is a shop where you can buy all these delicious chocolats !

This was really a 'sweet' off the beaten path visit.

La Vaudree I & II

by entguy

A couple low key Belgium watering holes -- it takes a three-ring binder to list all the different Belgian beers available!! I can't recall whether it was 1000 or 2000 with maybe 50 on tap, but these differences are irrelevant for the time frames of most travelers.
