How do I get to Stavelot by rail from Paris/Brussels? Travelling 2 September 2005.

I think to best way is to get the train to Spa (check out timetables at www.b-rail.be) and than the bus to Stavelot.
That all I can do for you... Wallonia feels like a different country to me :)

At http://www.tec-wl.be, you can find the complete trip (in four languages). Fill in Brussel/Midi and Stavelot and you will get the best way to make the trip.

Remark: I think some thalys trains go from Paris to Liege (see www.thalys.be), so you can skip the first train, and get off in Liege, then continue with the second train and a short bus-trip.

Example:
- 9:52 --> Brussel-Midi, take train IC508 direction Eupen, get off at LIEGE-GUILLEMINS (1h10)
- 11:18 --> Take train IR115 to Luxembourg, get off at TROIS-PONTS (0h52)
- 12:16 --> Take bus 45a direction Manderfeld
- 12:23 --> Arriving in Stavelot

Spa-Francorchamps Circuit

Just outside the town you have access to the paddock of the famous Spa-Francorchamps Formula 1 circuit, the most beautiful circuit in the world according to most of the F1 pilots.
This famous competition has almost disappeared because of some weird anti-tobacco law and stupid ecologist politicians. At the end, it is finally back in the F1 calendar...
Several other competitions also take place on the circuit and the area is attracting many car-lovers. While we were strolling in town we have had the chance to see two dozen Morgan arriving together!
