"Where ?"
Theux is situated between the motorways Liège-Prüm E42 and Liège-Luxembourg E25 at 20 km from Liège, between Banneux, Remouchamps and at 7 km from Spa.
Bathed with the Hoëgne river, this lovely town is situated at a height of 220 m, at the NW of the High Fagnes plateau and south of the Herve plateau on the Ardennes' border.
The fertile valleys are surrounded by woods, offering an excellent refuge to all kinds of activities.
"The Franchimont castle ruins"
The Franchimont castle was built in the XIth Century. At present, only imposing ruins deserve a visit.
You can still discover the chapel, a tower with latrines, a bread oven and a well 60 m. Three circular blockhouses can be visited.

"Hodbomont village"
Hodbomont is one of the 22 rural hamlets of the entity of Theux. The numerous prairies are bordered with hedges of various species, very typical to this lovely and peaceful region.
The local population maintains this nice chapel.

"Historical town center"
The Saint Hermès and Alexander church was built during the second part of the IXth century
Part of the actual roman hall church, the three naves, was built in 1019. It's the unique still preserved one between the Loire and the Rhine.
The historical town center shows beautifully restaured houses built in different styles during the ages.
